FTA:WHITE MOUNTAINS — A pair of incidents this week caused schools in the White Mountains to take extra precautions, including a lockdown of one district’s buildings.
Both stemmed from a viral threat that proved to be a “hoax,” according to national media outlets, and the threats came in the wake of a Parkland, Fla. school shooting that killed 17 last week.
The first incident was a viral social media post by Facebook user Ray Andres, who threatened to bring a gun to school, and said students should “be prepared to hear shots.” A second post by the user, who claimed he wouldn’t be revealing his — or her — real name, said, “Yes, SHS is the school I want.”
On Thursday, Blue Ridge Unified School District parents were notified of a report of a gun on an elementary school bus, causing all three district schools to go into a “hard lockdown.” Pinetop-Lakeside Police Department conducted a search of district buses and schools, which resulted in no guns being found. The district emailed parents updates throughout the lockdown.

Since the shooting in FL, there have been numerous threats to schools here in PA, including some that resulted in total closures of the school districts for a day or more.
I don’t know why these events just bring out the crazies. And administrators are extra-cautious, as they don’t want to take heat for not responding to threats, no matter how flimsy.
Yep. They didn’t like the idea of boys (and some girls :) coming back into the classrooms, after recess, all stinky and sweaty.

Gates is scheduled to appear before a federal judge Friday to face reduced charges of conspiracy against the United States and lying to federal agents, according to a new court filing.
The potential for a guilty plea could dramatically change the dynamics in the investigation, just one day after special counsel Robert Mueller added a raft of new financial and tax charges to the criminal case against Gates and his longtime colleague, Paul Manafort.
