Notes on the indictment

The indictment states that the Russians supported Trump in the Republican primaries and Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primaries. They supported Trump in the presidential campaign. They obviously thought that their candidacies “sowed confusion” in the ways that became obvious to us all. They were outrageous. They were not meant to be.

By the same token, the Russians viewed Trump’s presidential campaign as doomed — just as I and everyone else did. They supported American chaos and hysteria and demoralization. Supporting Trump or other actions to detract from the magnitude of Clinton’s victory might weaken Clinton when she ultimately won. That’s obviously what they had in mind. They were victims of traditional thinking and conventional wisdom, just like me.

And just like CNN’s Chris Cillizza. Cillizza continues in his obtuse mode commenting on the indictment. He is also overcome with excitement. He thinks the Russians wanted Trump to win. He doesn’t understand what they were up to, or anything else relevant to what happened for that matter. Cillizza thinks, just to take one small example, the allegations of the indictment prove something “beyond a shadow of a doubt.”

For those of us who have followed the twists and turns of the collusion hysteria since the day after the election, one question hangs over the indictment. In the words of the Lieber/Stoller song, is that all there is? It’s too soon to tell, but one guy who should have some idea is the malicious former Gus Hall supporter John Brennan. See Lee Smith’s invaluable column explaining how Brennan drove the collusion investigation. Brennan commented on the indictment via Twitter (below)

In response Trump should put the military at DEFCON 3 because what the Russians did is an act of war and the Russian head of state directed it aginst America.

Trump should only accept a public apology from Putin on behalf of America. Until then, we should stand ready because Russia has declared itself an enemy again.

Ah I think you are a little paranoid. 13 Russians over throwing an election were the loser spent over a billion dollars is absurd. Let’s see the Garcia first. To date we only see a statement / theory.

I think and have from the beginning that Putin is going to rue the day he decided to underestimate Donald Trump and treat him like a patsy.

DNC propaganda.

All propaganda has a kernel of truth, this time the kernel is silly russian internet trolls. The DNC,Hillary,Obama and the Deep State were obviously aware of the trolls and cleverly used that kernel of truth to spin a massive web of lies to accuse all opponents of colluding and being Russian spies.

Devious, clever and it worked. The actual collusion is between the left and Russia but the noise and confusion they’ve created conceals that fact.

Your thinking is muddled as is your spelling.

Do you really believe that because Obama spied on Israel, Russia has the right to covertly interfere with US elections?

internet trolls is not interfering. no impact except for the fact Hillary,Obama,DeepState and media used it to accuse anyone who opposed them of being Russian spies and used the Deep State to spy on them.

I thought about this question when the indictments came down. Anyone else live thru the Bay of Pigs, Patrice Lumumba, Salvador Allende? Does the name John Foster Dulles ring a bell? Russia's $100k investment in Facebook political ads and the use of internet trolls is child's play in comparison.

The Russians have been intervening\influencing\whatever you want to call it in our elections ever since 1918 by subsidizing the American Communist party as well as supporting other leftists. Likewise in Europe (Italy comes to mind!) we supported in some cases subsidized anti-communist parties since WWII in my mind. This is all much ado about nothing! Mueller has nothing on Trump, if he had any sense he would slink off an fade into a footnote of history.

And the worst of all, Mossadeqh in Iran, (we wouldn’t have the Mullahs running Iran today, had we not overthrown him).

13 Russians over throwing an election

You don't believe for a minute that they acted alone, do you?

This was a Putin act. It had a giant Russian corporation behind it. This was a hostile act.

Only Obama committed such a shameful act.

This is the "old" Russia taking covert action against America, this time striking at our very foundation. It should renew the cold war.

A response is mandatory.

And the Brits tried to influence our elections in days before we entered WWI and WWII.
