The Senate on Thursday rejected immigration legislation crafted by centrists in both parties after President Trump threatened to veto the bill if it made it to his desk.
In a 54-45 vote, the Senate failed to advance the legislation from eight Republican, seven Democratic and one Independent senators. It needed 60 votes to overcome a procedural hurdle.

So it is better to have a bad bill passed than having nothing at all??
What people are forgetting is that we have an immigration policy in place. It is called the law of the land. People are looking for an immigration bill that will soften existing laws and allow for more immigrants to come into our country. I do not believe that this is a good underlying concept for passing more legislation. Maybe the politicos need to first come to grips as to what their objectives really are and work from there. The problem is that nobody is buying what the democrats and the “centrist” (read that as leftist) Republicans are trying to sell.
Who needs a new law? Let the EXISTING immigration laws prevail.

54 Senators voted to Sell Out the American People, 6 more and were toast.
there fixed the stupid headline
He already showed the way for these DACA criminals a 12 year path. That’s fair for a bunch of anti American leeches but I prefer ZERO tolerance for them.
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
“Centrist.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means...”
We are supposed to post the exact title of the article and it was in there.
The MSM is deliberately using misleading terms.
I know it wasn’t you.
My post was a movie reference.
“You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means” is a quote from the movie Princess Bride.
Sorry for the misunderstanding.
12 Years would’ve honestly thinned the herd by about half because there’s no way the scumbag portion of the DACA kids would keep their noses clean that long.
But 10 years for wall funding? Still sanctuary cities and chain migration? F that.
Let it go to March and let the program go away completely. We have the Trump card here.
“theres no way the scumbag portion of the DACA kids would keep their noses clean that long.”
Exactly. DJT did it this way to make them fall in line but Im sure some will fall off the cliff..
Most so-called “centrists” of today would have been up in front of the House Un-American Activities Committee 50 years ago trying to explain away their ultra-left anti-American conduct and rhetoric.
“centrist” = anti-American LIB loser whose goal is to erode civil society
On March 4 it'll be "Off to the races!" as we enjoy watching the pickup trucks, laden with furniture, Mama, niños and Abuela, make a run for the border ahead of La Migra.
Good news.
I think they mispelled “crappiest”.
GOOD!
Folks, you are watching “The Art of the Deal” in action.
Trump wouldn’t deal with them on DACA, and the government shut down. The Dems thought that they’d best him on that, because it worked many other times against the Schmuckpublicans, but Trump is Trump and they got schlonged. Next, they signed the budget deal...and are faced with trying to do a DACA deal and having NOTHING to threaten Trump with. Now they try to do a deal that they know Trump won’t do with some Schmuckpublicans, and Trump schlongs that deal. So who does everyone think is going to win this one?
Sounds like the plan is to replace McConnell with Romney. The Senate GOP will resist but he will use his donor network to buy the position.
