Authorities are investigating a reported shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland Wednesday.
Officers responded to the school at 5901 Pine Island Road for the reported shooting, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said.
There were reports of victims, BSO officials said.
Coral Springs Police tweeted that that people should stay away from the school due to an active police scene.
No other information was known.
We don’t know that there were no reports.

Another mention of adoptive parents.
Actually, not only Spaniards can be Caucasian. I am Cuban and have Spaniard grandfathers, and most people, including other Hispanics, are surprised to learn that I’m Cuban. (My eyes are green, skin is fair.) My Argentine friend is even fairer!
In perspective when taking into account the number of students and the number of schools we have not had “all those school shootings”as if they were a daily occurrence.
There are many reasons why security guards with video cameras really is not a workable solution. Security cameras. Controlled entry. Armed staff. Better safety procedures. These are things that can be done and adjusted for the school implementing them. But what would not be good is anything that might feed paranoia and lead to overreaction.
Yep.
Btw, they say the suspect was thrown out of the same school not long ago. Sounds like he had some bad intent going and was going to make them pay. Of course the suspect seems to have a history of being the strange tough guy and some local witnesses apparently are not overly surprised this guy detonated.
Per above, adoptive father died a few ago, adoptive mother last year.
No we don’t. I was explaining why Baker act may not have been invoked.
“A family member of the suspect Cruz told ABC News in the US that Nikolas was adopted by Roger and Lynda Cruz, both of whom are now deceased, and that his adopted mother died last year.”
Not sure what happened to his brother or step-brother
That was one explanation. The recent changes to the Baker Act might provide another.
Id say that maybe losing his adoptive mother set him off but she died last year. I wonder if he was living alone
Looks like your typical Bernie Sanders supporter.
Guy had a ‘history’.
smh...
I think I found the mom’s obit. If I’ve got the right woman, looks like she passed away in Nov. of 2017. And if I found the right obit for the brother, no cause of death was given, which makes me wonder about why. In my neck of the woods, no cause is usually given when it’s due to an OD.
Nicolas Cruz was adopted as an infant. His mother just died this past November. Her obituary has a photo of her holding him as a newborn. So sad for everyone involved.

Living alone unlikely unless he was on public assistance, or his late parents left him some money. Maybe have been bouncing around between family, friends, or just living rough.
Note to FNC: We don’t need more gun control. We need nut control.
We have had a lot of shootings and other kinds of violence at schools in the last 20 years. Security guards watching the school’s perimeter with video cameras and responding quickly to an obvious threat is not an overreaction. Every large school should have security guards watching the perimeter with video cameras.
I would bet that almost every large shopping mall in America now has security guards watching the perimeter of the mall with video cameras. So why not the same kind of security for schools?
Nikolas Cruz: Suspected Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooter identified
Looks like younger brother still alive and family friends may have been trying to look after the perp.
