President Trumps longtime lawyer told the New York Times on Tuesday that he personally paid off a porn star who claimed to have had an affair with Mr. Trump.
In a statement to The Times, Michael Cohen said he paid the $130,000 to Stephanie Clifford, best known as Stormy Daniels, without the connivance of Mr. Trump or his entities, and was not compensated after the fact.
Neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was a party to the transaction with Ms. Clifford, and neither reimbursed me for the payment, either directly or indirectly, he said in his statement. The payment to Ms. Clifford was lawful, and was not a campaign contribution or a campaign expenditure by anyone.

It just gets billed later.
No doubt. BUT did he send her a 1099 for “Services Rendered”?
Why is he saying this in the NY Times? If there was a pay-off it should no one else’s business.
A more accurate title is “The Trump Accuser We Won’t Let Go Away”.
Seriously, WTF was Cohen thinking saying ANYTHING about this story that finally was FORGOTTEN by the enemedia. And the TIMES???
that’s one of the reasons I actually doubt rumors. trump does super models, not skeevy porn stars. just not his style. ever.
Pretty expensive. I thought, Mr. Trump always got the best price.
IT’S NOBODY BUSINESS BUT OURS
Remember that, leftists? From the 90s with Clinton? Effing mofo hypocrites
What i8s the use of bringing this up? If anyone is interested in her, then they can buy her videos. I’ve heard Jenna Jameson’s politics recently and I like her better.
Was that from his breast pocket?

CNN is running with it as their #1 story.
“CNN is running with it as their #1 story.”
Of course they are. They ignored all the women who came out to say they were hurt and damaged by Bill Clinton, and they’ve ignored Clinton’s ties to convicted sex offender Epstein, and they’ve covered for Hillary’s willingness to sacrifice and destroy women to preserve her pathetic political career, but they are all in when it comes to the alleged involvement of Trump with a sex worker, who willingly has sex for money.
When Bill Clinton was having ‘sexual relations’ with a young White House intern, while his wife was upstairs in the White House, they said, “it’s just about sex”. They didn’t care about Monica, and they didn’t care about ethics. The media are scum. Unethical, morally corrupt, narcissistic, willing to do anything to elevate themselves (and the Democrats who give them stature), SCUM. There are exceptions, but that’s just the point. They are exceptions. The majority of those in journalism today are undeserving of their credentials, an embarrassment to their profession, and a cancer in our nation.
Don’t care.
No, they are not. It would be grounds for disbarment.
I don’t give a flip about Stormy, since Slick Willy raped Juanita Broderick and it’s crickets, that’s just the way it is. Stormy ain’t NOTHING compared to Slick Willy’s crimes.
The WaPo story is about a different woman - Summer Zervos. She is one of the women who accused him of sexual assault. I did a post on that for my blog at the time - there were some inaccuracies in that story. This is a different woman who he was said to have had a consensual affair with in 2006 - Stormy Daniels.
It’s interesting. I shared this with my Dad, and he asked the same question you asked, Sam. He asked why Michael Cohen would acknowledge this. He wondered why he didn’t just say no money was paid to her from the campaign. Why did he have to share it was his personal money?
Anyway, we know Trump had affairs in the past. We know he was a ladies man. It’s wrong, yes, but it was 12 years ago. I’d be more concerned if I heard it was happening today. Bill Clinton and Kennedy had affairs IN OFFICE - both beloved by Democrats. The Trump of 12 years ago isn’t the same man of today. He didn’t even say “God bless” at the end of his early campaign speeches. He now says it at the end of every speech, speaks of God in his speeches, has Bible studies, and (ministers admit) gives them more access than they’ve had before to the White House. I’m worried about the present, not 12 years ago.
That’s an indication that Cohen was acting to protect himself, not Trump. Puts the circumstantial evidence in a different light.
Could Trump have just paid him back/paid him more? Would he have to report that?
There was a written statement put out, but it could have just been in line with their agreement. She went on Kimmel - wouldn’t admit or deny.
He could have gotten twice as much over a weekend in Vegas for 1/10th the cost.
