Learn to read. I have emphasized again and again that A. Private charities do a much better job than government programs at helping people. B. That assistance should be temporary. C. That government programs need major overhauling both to better assist people and to save money.
Round up? Oh no bad connotations there. Nope, none at all.
Well I for one never thought I would see the day when Dickensian England was seen as the ideal society. But it does appear to be the dream of too many here.
Not nearly as cruel and ugly as the actual behavior of our demoncRAT generated feral underclass. Fact of the matter is, I'm being kind and gentle. Whitewashing the ugly and cruel behavior of the feral underclass is itself a form of ugliness and cruelty; it tends to perpetuate their social pathologies.
You do agree though that there is a percentage of people that are disabled for life. A prime example of this was my mom who had paranoid schizophrenia. She would get better but had relapses over the course of her life eventually passing away in her 50s. The question is what do we do with those people?
Now “feral” I don’t mind. I use it myself. That is an apt description for the behavior we see from Anti-fa for example. I agree we should be honest about how people act.
I agree. The big problem how do you balance the very real need for treatment that is consistent and adhered to with the rights of the mentally disabled. Second to that is the whole matter of funding programs that not only see that medical care is followed but that people become as self sufficient as possible for them. Which may mean they never reach full independence.
We can’t just abandon such people to the fates. I know a total welfare state is not the answer but neither is Darwinian social policy.
ok GATHER up. Find and incarcerate.
What ever you want to use.
They’ll sell their pin for .50 on the dollar. Or 2 will meet at a store, pretend they know each other and the one with the card buys $200. worth of food, and the other person pays them about $100. Etc etc...Lots of creative ways.
I’m down with that.
Never takes long for scammers a way to beat the system and rip others off.
Oh come on...how the Hell are they supposed to get their booze and drugs if you do it that way?
Good idea - could teach some of these people how to cook as a side benefit...
How is it a good idea?
How much is it going to cost taxpayers to hire all those employees needed for this? Gotta have office workers, accountants, delivery to the warehouses, workers to package the boxes, etc. Then how much will be the postage and front door delivery of the boxes?
Sure, I still have to make time to go grocery shopping and then am laid up for 3 days with a sore knee. Where’s my freebie boxed meals delivered to my front door?
Delivery? Who said anything about delivery? Do food stamp recipients get their food delivered now?
??
Front door delivery is what Blue Apron does. Front door delivery is their selling gimmick.
The government is talking about delivering these food boxes to the homes because poor folk don’t have transportation to get to the warehouses and it’d be too heavy to carry home.
“The Trump administration is waging its latest, and most unnerving, attack on America’s working poor. And they want it delivered to your door each month...Delivery was also another issue, because the federal government’s projected cost of the plan, doesn’t ensure that food will be delivered to every recipients home. The USDA claimed it could deliver the boxed food at “approximately half the retail cost” for SNAP’s 16 million recipients.”
According to the proposal states would be allowed to determine the method of delivery “through existing infrastructure, partnerships, and/or directly to residences through commercial and/or retail delivery services.”

“The Trump administration is proposing replacing a portion of the federal food stamp program with actual boxes of food delivered to recipients’ front doors”
Why deliver it when boxes could be shipped to stores along with all the other food?
Their food is not being delivered now, so there is no reason to deliver to anyone when they could just walk to the store and pick up a box of food if they’re qualified.
The Democratics will hate this. A lot of their constituents sell their stamps 2 for a buck to the working man.
