Canadian figure skater Meagan Duhamel is hoping to win a gold medal in South Korea this month - though no prize could be more life-changing than her previous Pyeongchang souvenir.
Not after last year, when the two-time world champion pairs skater brought home Moo-tae - an affable miniature dachshund mix with big ears, bowed legs and the bad luck of being born into the Korean dog meat trade. Duhamel, a vegan and animal lover, helped rescue Moo-tae by accompanying him on his flight from South Korea to Canada last February. The 2-year-old pup has been living with her and husband/coach Bruno Marcotte in Montreal since, spending his days doing yoga with Duhamel and making friends at the local dog park.
"He's like a saint," Duhamel said.
Taiwan bans human consumption of cat, dog meat It's been a different life for Moo-tae. Like roughly 2 million dogs each year, he was supposed to be raised on a Korean dog meat farm, where conditions are often poor.

Not sure why that makes their culture bad when their kids smoke us in mathematics.

Eating animals which are traditionally pets, like cats, dogs, and horses, is barbaric. These are animals which have come to trust you, rely on you, and have affection for you. And then their trust is brutally violated. I hope all the dog and cat eaters become violently and fatally ill, and that this heinous practice is wiped out forever. I could care less about anyone defending the practice. Some “traditions” are better ended. Filthy savages.
There is video I saw two months ago on YouTube.
It was a bunch of Koeans standing in front of a wok laughing like crazy. The camera panned to the wok where a small dog was howling trying to get of the fire in the pan.
I wish I had not seen it!

When the say Hot dog, the mean it.
They call themselves “globalists” ... and worry about a local custom? Oh, I get it, IMPOSE OUR CUSTOMS ON THEM! Sure that’s “globalism.”
I also recall a thread a while back about how the Greeks catch and prepare octopuses, something about slamming them into rocks while still alive to make them more tender to eat. And then even more recently a thread about how cooking lobsters by plunging them in boiling water was inhumane and that you should humanely killed them first by plunging a knife into their brain first, never mind that they still end up on a dinner plate and served with butter.
While I love them, I’d still like to know who the first person who decided to eat raw oysters was thinking. Was it out of desperation and extreme hunger and or the lack of fire making skills or just a why not, I’ll give a try it moment?
