The Israeli military has shot down an Iranian drone that infiltrated the country and has struck Iranian targets in Syria that launched it, in what the military called a "severe and irregular violation of Israeli sovereignty".
The military said its planes faced heavy anti-aircraft counter fire from Syria that forced Israeli pilots to abandon an F-16 jet that crashed in northern Israel.
It said the pilots were injured and evacuated to a hospital. Sirens sounded in northern Israel as a result of massive Syrian fire.
Explosions could be heard in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley region near the Syrian border.
Israeli military spokesman Jonathan Conricus said Iran was "responsible for this severe violation of Israeli sovereignty".
The military said it was "monitoring events and is fully prepared for further action".
Syrian state TV quoted a military official saying Syrian air defences hit more than one Israeli plane.

Thankfully his geopolitical gambles are unravelling. Other than Crimea (which I’d say is securely his.) He messed up big in the Middle East. And the gamechanger isn’t even Syria, but Iran. The protests and impending regime fall in Iran would be a big mess-up to plan.

So he decides that’s too hard and has kissy face deals with places like Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and Egypt. So he goes after daddy’s demons in Iran. He lied to us about everything.

I will expound on Jesus’ two commandments and prayer a bit.
I am extremely frustrated with Christian men these days and our church leaders.
If you look out the window and you see your sheep pen with all the sheep in it, and you also see wolves running amongst them ripping and tearing and killing, do you sit there and pray that God will protect have sheep, or do you pray for divine protection as you go deal with the wolves?
Top many people these days are happy to pray, and nobody seems to want to back it up, it might mean going out of their comfort zones.

They’re dying in western Syria and still somehow carry in the east and may continue to do so if our military is too busy shooting at Syrian government forces like they did the other day.

I respectfully disagree. Obama put US forces in Syria mere miles from a Russian base that was established decades ago. In other words, he started the war against Russia in Syria. To do that, he armed the bad gys also with millions of your taxpayer dollars. Obama owns the Syrian war.

Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses is normally the first phase in a war.
Syria could long be deterred by its vulnerability to Israeli counter strikes - Damascus is only minutes away.
Iran likely feels insulated by its distance. The organizations and plans that Iran has been building for decades targeted against Israel have their own momentum - it would be hard for Iran to turn them away from attacking Israel, even if they wanted. It would be hard internally for Iran to even want to avoid war - their domestic politics has long punished such opinion as taboo.
Iran and Hizbollah are on a train they can’t stop - they will have to be stopped.
