No sarcasm, rather skepticism.
Years ago, when I was much younger, our Sunday School teacher told us the story of how some of her classmates decided that they weren’t going to college (this was back when colleges actually taught something to help students become successful) as there wasn’t time.
Christ was coming back within a few years and they needed to go out and lead as many to Christ as possible.
While their efforts were certainly laudable, their reasoning was emotion based foolishness.
Although I never knew who they were, I think of them from time to time.
They’re probably long gone by now, but I wonder how long it was until they realized that maybe their sense of time was different than Gods.
Well, yes, I agree with you. But there IS a difference between then and now. Prophecy says, in so many words, that the generation being born when Israel once more becomes a nation (1948), will not all die off before Christ returns. I’m personally serving as if He’s coming back tomorrow; but planning and giving to missions as though he won’t return for 50 years.
I had been working on a spreadsheet timeline -- but this is at least 500% better!
