He had dimotards like Elijah Cummings, the MSM, deep state operatives like Comey and Lynch working against him.
If he had been the director of the FBI I have no doubt that Hillary would be in jail but as a House committee chair he didn’t have that constitutional mandate. I am beginning to believe that Gowdy is scaring the bejesus out of folks and that he is why he is being attacked so aggressively. You Gowdy haters need to step back and take a deep breath. That’s a fact. The talking heads went on for months on why Sessions ‘had’ to recuse himself but never said a word about the people with real conflicts of interest, rosenweasel and mueller.
Mueller has a history of finding "guilt" where there is none, sending INNOCENT people to jail, only to see his cases overturned later and the people let out of jail, with their reputations ruined, and the years of the lose of their freemdom, which they'll never get back.
He may have the same genes as Sessions.
According to Devin Nunes, Trey Gowdy is the only member to have read the FISA application used against Carter Page.

1. He is a material witness -- and possibly even the target in a criminal matter -- in a case where he has the sole oversight of the prosecutor.
2. As Deputy AG he is responsible for the oversight of the FBI, whose senior leaders secured FISA warrants for the case in question under potentially fraudulent circumstances. His signature appears on one of the FISA warrant applications.
Getting himself elected, he viewed the vipers den and learned much.
Now, he expresses a strong desire to get back to prosecutorial service.
