Journalist and documentary filmmaker Thomas J. Colbert has spent years chasing leads in an attempt to figure out the identity of the famed skyjacker known as D.B. Cooper.
Today, the chase will end -- outside the entrance to the FBI’s Washington, D.C., headquarters. There, Colbert plans to level serious charges against the federal law-enforcement agency.

At one time I thought of the FBI as heroes.
After Ruby Ridge and Waco it was clear to me that they were corrupt and felt they could “and should” do anything they wanted to “Right Wing Extremists” including murder.
They knew they could get away with it due to the media having the same agenda.
In this particular case tho, I don’t see how the FBI had a dog in the fight one way or the other.

The FBI does not want it’s agents to become the Baltimore police department equivalent known for corruption and abuse of power. So they cover up abuses of power and rouge agents and leaders rather than cleaning up their mess and acting right by cleaning out the dirt.
That is, until the memo comes out.
Read up on what the FBI did to Howard Hughes in the 1940’s... same scummy political crap going on today.
I have met a few FBI agents. I have to say, the ones I would trust the most would be Sam and Dean Winchester.
They have degenerated a long ways since the days of Effram Zimbalist Jr. in my mind.
The reporter wants to pin this on a guy who was only age 25 or so then (74 now when the job was pulled in 1971). The reports were always about someone who looked to be in his 30s or 40s.
I’m not buying it. The real “Cooper” probably died and his cash has slowly appeared over time, much of it now totally unusable due to the forest exposure.
You’re talking about a 50-year-old crime now.

Ahh, what if "D.B. Cooper" was an FBI agent who knew airline and FBI protocols and used that knowledge to plan and execute the hijacking? The FBI would not want their image (ha!) tarnished and would do anything to conceal the fact.
