Nunes Statement on FBI, DOJ Objections to Release of HPSCI Memo
Ushouse ^

Posted on 01/31/2018 12:52:48 PM PST by janetjanet998

House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes issued the following statement today:

“Having stonewalled Congress’ demands for information for nearly a year, it’s no surprise to see the FBI and DOJ issue spurious objections to allowing the American people to see information related to surveillance abuses at these agencies. The FBI is intimately familiar with ‘material omissions’ with respect to their presentations to both Congress and the courts, and they are welcome to make public, to the greatest extent possible, all the information they have on these abuses. Regardless, it’s clear that top officials used unverified information in a court document to fuel a counter-intelligence investigation during an American political campaign. Once the truth gets out, we can begin taking steps to ensure our intelligence agencies and courts are never misused like this again.”

In case anyone didn’t know the contents of the memo yet.

They may be doing a very long time in hell a lot sooner than ever anticipated by their clueless noggins.

I hope you are right. The FBI should provide the material omissions to complete the record.

Juicy. Worth reading over and over again!

Guys like Issa, Chaffetz, Gowdy should all take note of Nunes persistence and accomplishments. They all banged a big drum but ultimately all failed to drain the swamp.

You hit the nail on the head. Few places in this country have been more thoroughly destroyed by Liberalism than Fresno, California.

-- Nunes apparently thinks that the "FBI response memo" is real. --

No harm in acting like it is. Pretty much ALL of the press has reported the statement as fact, some attributing it to Director Wray.

Make the statement allegedly from the FBI into cause for a big stink.

Devin, you da man. Since when do those being investigated have a say over what can and cannot be in the investigation report? After constant stonewalling of requests for information by Congress, the FBI has the chutzpah to talk about omissions,

Nunes knows this, and he knows that the FBI knows it. So rather than run the risk of including something in his memo that would be a breach of national security, he's inviting the FBI to go ahead and do it themselves.

Yep. At this point that would be the best thing for the FBI and the best thing for the country.

They won't do it.

The feds forgot they work for us! By the Court’s order, the agency and DoJ lied, perjured itself and obstructed justice. They blew off the Court and Congress, now we, the public, say, enough’s enough! #ReleaseTheMemo

So where is Sessions in all this? I just don’t get it. What does he ever do? Don’t they all report to him? Isn’t he in charge? As Lombardi would say........What the hell’s going on out there?!”

Trump needs to release the memo now, everyone is stepping over the story and creating false narratives.

Agree. Thge longer it takes to get the memo out, the more time the Dems and the MSM can build the narrative that the report is a partisan hit job. Release no later than tomorrow morning or tonight.
