Nearly half of those who watched President Trump's State of the Union address on Tuesday reacted "very" positively to the speech, according to a snap CNN/SSRS poll.
According to that survey, the results of which were announced on-air on CNN, 48 percent of respondents said they had a "very positive" reaction to the speech — Trump's first since taking office. Only 22 percent said they had a "somewhat positive" reaction to the speech, while 29 percent reacted negatively.
The results of that poll came less than two hours after Trump finished delivering his speech, in which he touted the tax cuts and regulatory rollbacks of his first year in office and outlined his ambitions to revitalize the nation's infrastructure and take on immigration reform.
Sixty-two percent of respondents said that the policies outlined by the president on Tuesday would move the country in the right direction, according to the CNN/SSRS poll. By comparison, 35 percent said they would move it in the wrong direction.

I agree with you. He framed the Democrats as the party of illegal immigration. Sure the Dems threw a little red meat to the BLM and LGBT crowds, but make no mistake, the Democrat response to the SOTU was a big FU to Americans and open door mat to illegals.
Like the Greek mythical figure Antaeus, as long as President Trump stays firmly grounded with his base—and FR may be Base Central—he’s unbeatable.
He had it dialed-in tonight. He just seems to be getting stronger and stronger.

I think this poll will encourage good candidates to get off the fence, and shore up some of those open seats as well ...
My wife was one of those polled by CNN. They called her last week to set up the call and she was a bit ticked off after because the pollster was having a hard time accepting her enthusiasm for the speech and positive feeling that the country is headed in the right direction. He kept pushing her about whether she really felt that way. Essentially challenging she actually believed Trump.

I just switched to CNN, they had a bottom headline (not the news crawl) or whatever it’s called that read: “Trump calls for unity, fails to mention Russia investigation”
