I've watched every State of the Union speech since before I can remember. Either I'm losing my memory, or that was the most powerful, emotional, and purely American one that I can remember. It brought tears to my eyes and that's saying a lot. I haven't weeped like a girl since election night. Real men are allowed to cry once a year. Look it up.

I don't remember doing much but shaking my head with cynicism at past guests that were trotted out by Presidents. This time seemed different. Every one of them served to illustrate the new America we find ourselves in. Every one used to destroy the lie of the Democrat vision of America.

It was, and should have been to all Americans, eye opening to see all the things the Democrats were against, and displayed by sitting on their hands while Americans stood. The fools outted themselves like they always do.

The Donald, my President, made me so proud. Proud to have supported him, proud to have voted for him, and proud to have taken the mockery, ridicule, and evil that liberals try to put on me. The Donald represents me. In a way, he is me. As he suffers, I suffer. As he triumphs, I triumph. And so goes America. He is America, just as I am America. As we all are.

I can't help thinking about when the Donald first decided to run and his road to victory. How many of us, and the country at large, doubted he could do the job. Doubted that he would be a good President.

Remember "temperament," "experience?" "He's just a reality star?" I remember it all. Gradually, he gained supporters, believers. After this speech and the past year, there is no doubt. The Donald is the real deal. I'm saying it now. Yes, I know, Reagan. But The Donald is the greatest President this country has ever seen. There, I said it. Let me be the first. ThankQ The Donald. I stand with you. I bleed with you. And I win with you.

Man that was good. I feel like I felt after I first saw Rocky when it came out. Now. About that memo..........

The Donald, President Trump reminds us all of what we older generations were brought up with and the younger generations have never heard: America is only as good as her citizens, and the country belongs to ‘ we the people’. America was never intended to belong to a fat cat ruling class of lawyers. Americans ARE Dreamers too!

The difference between conservatives and lib is we dream, libs can only have nightmares!

An excellent post, B, and my apology for not having responded to it last night.

This was The Donald of the campaign rallies, multiplied by the exponential factor of the Presidency.
Like the rallies, I sensed last night that, while ostensibly addressing the assembled Congress and guests, the REAL message was meant most specifically for everyone outside the DC swamp.
While most SOTU speeches may aim for that to one degree or another (and often fail on the sincerity meter), his performance with this one was no less than stellar.
Trusting the man is made SO much easier by the fact that he's NOT a career politician, but someone who's actually striven and succeeded in the real world.

Setting aside the expected enthusiasm from the (R) side of the aisle, the contrast between his vision and determination and the petty, classless, socialist Left couldn't have been more stark.
Their behavior was that of petulant children who, having been caught red-handed in their misdeeds, are stuck in that interim of horrible denial before being shamed into the truth.
Imagine having no applause to give to those amazing examples of courage and altruism invited to attend !
To say nothing of caring more for their little fiefdoms, and so little about their own constituencies, as to refuse to acknowledge this past year's outstanding improvements for same.

Tho at first hesitant to post and 'host' a live thread, it was an exhilarating evening and I'm grateful to all who participated on this thread.
Our President did our Nation proud, and judging by the few poll numbers I've seen this morning, that's a view shared by an overwhelming number of our fellow Americans.
As was so nicely stated in your post, it truly feels like we finally have 'one of us' in that job, and that he brings integrity to work with him every day.

And perhaps the very best part is yet to come - Now. About that memo..........

MAGA, FRiends !
