During Monday’s episode of “The View,” co-host Meghan McCain asked Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand if Hillary Clinton should be held to the standards Gillibrand has been advocating concerning sexual harassment.
After lambasting President Trump and former Republican National Committee finance chairman Steve Wynn over multiple allegations of sexual harrassement and assault, Gillibrand was stumped when McCain asked her if Hillary Clinton should be chastised for keeping an aide on her campaign after a woman accused him of sexual harrassement in 2007.
“You are a longtime supporter of the Clintons and consider her a mentor. Do you think her response this weekend was appropriate?” McCain asked.
Gillibrand stammered for a few seconds before saying she didn’t know all the details, and that the attention should be focused on the sexual harassment women face in the workplace, which is precisely what’s at issue with Clinton’s aide.
“As you know I think these things have to be dealt with — whether a Democrat or a Republican,” Gillibrand said. “You need transparency, you need accountability, and no one is above criticism. But in that case I don’t know all the details. I don’t know if the punishment she chose was the right punishment. But what it does bring us to talk about is this issue of workplace harassment.”
“A lot of people were really surprised it took you 20 years to say Bill Clinton should’ve resigned over the Lewinksy scandal, so what do you say to that?” McCain asked the Democratic senator.
“I think this moment of time that we’re in is very different,” Gillibrand said. “I think many of us did not have that same lens, myself included, but today we are having a very different conversation. And there is a moment in time where we can actually do the right thing, or fixate on one president.”
“Do you regret campaigning with him though?” McCain asked.
Gillibrand did not acknowledge the question or answer it, and continued to opine about the #MeToo movement.
“It’s not about any one president and it’s not about any one industry,” she said. “And if we reduce it to that we are missing the opportunity to allow women to be heard, to allow women to have transparency, to allow women to have justice. ”

I never heard much of this Gillibrand woman. She sounds like a sophomore high school student. What she brings to Washington is useless.

Most of those people on the View seem to be emotionally unstable.
She brings to Washington a rubber stamp for Chuck “The Schmuck” Schumer.
They are, it is completely unwatchable.
Kirsten Gillibrand is a ding-a-ling.
These libs are talking about Trump bullying but what is it they’re doing? They’re constantly trying to bully the president. Fortunately, we have someone in office that stands up to their bullying.
Trump fights back. These people are all trying to fight back too. When weak people get into a street fight, they are in over their heads. When you look weak and talk weak, you can not hide it.
And when Meghan McCain makes you stammer, you’re a lightweight of the worst order.
She looks and talks like she is lost and in over her head.
Good job, Meghan! She can be a barracuda, and I love it.
Spot on! She is a miserable cretin who "specializes" in lightweight fluff like "womens issues". She has never, not even once, introduced any legislation worth anything. I will never forgive her for ramrodding legislation through the House about 4 years ago which authorized the wholesale slaughter of Canada geese on Federal wildlife preserves. This was based on absolutely junk science, which merely served to prove that she was unable/unwilling to evaluate this before pushing it through, resulting in NYC parks and wildlife preserves being devoid of Canada geese after the June/July molting season, when they can't fly and thus can be caught. Damn this b__.
Many of these Representatives and Senators think they can win by running against Trump and promoting hate. They have no issues and no solutions to issues. The only issue wave they can surf is Trump hate. The media Trump haters are doing a war dance around a fire each day. The left wing politicians dance around like they lost their way. They only have one thing in common and it is hate Trump. They are drunk on Trump!
It is becoming more and more evident each day that the people we send to Versailles on the Potomac ain’t the brightest bulbs in the box. If you want to tell it as it really is, they’re downright stupid.
Politicians (like Hollywood types) are looked at as something special, simply because they can memorize. Anything above that and the drool falls from the mouth and the eyes glaze over.
I’d say “Well, bless their little hearts” but not when they are flat out evil.
Not a Valley Girl McCain fan but you gotta give her credit on this one.
