Many of the so-called Dreamers worried about their immigration status are starting to reconsider their opposition to a possible wall at the U.S.-Mexico border, according to a report Friday from the San Francisco Chronicle.
President Donald Trumps wall at the border wouldnt be so bad, some groups are now saying, so long as it means citizenship for the nearly 700,000 people brought into the country through the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
If building a wall leads us to having citizenship, then Im all for it, Ana Rodriguez, who works at a daycare center in California, told reporters at the Chronicle. The U.S. is what I know and thats where I want to live my life I want to be a part of it in full.
Rodriguez and others like her are arguing about accepting a trade-off giving Trump his wall in exchange for retaining DACA. The Trump administration proposed a bill earlier this month offering citizenship to 1.8 million illegal immigrants in exchange for $25 billion for a border wall.
Activist organizations have also noted that DACA recipients are making recalculations about their opposition. Marissa Montes, co-director of the Loyola Immigrant Justice Clinic in Los Angeles, noticed in recent weeks that they are sounding more and more likely to back a wall in exchange for citizenship.
Its coming from a point of exhaustion theyve tried everything, Montes told reporters. Their instinct is survival and as human beings, how much longer can they endure this? Theyre ping-ponging back and forth.
(snip)
Recent polling shows Hispanics are evenly split on whether to combine a DACA deal to the building of a wall 42 percent of Hispanics oppose it and 42 percent support it, according to the Quinnipiac poll conducted Jan. 18.

Trouble was, Ive been using it since I turned 16 and applied for it!
The ones being used now are those mostly those of just issued to new born babies and/or elderly non-working senior citizens!

That is the most telling comment in the Article.
If we end up with a Rat President, these People will gain instant Citizenship without any regard to the Security and Sovereignty of America, and they will Vote Democrat for the next 100 Years (Hat tip to LBJ).
If POTUS Trump gets what he wants regarding Immigration with a secure Border while these People have a defined path to Citizenship, they won’t be thanking the Rats for opposing what they may now consider a sensible solution to their situation.
My position, get to the back of the line, but I am not the one who will solve this issue. That is going to be up to POTUS Trump, one way or the other. Tagline...

It won’t be limited to 700,000 already enrolled in the illegal DACA program for illegal aliens.
That number is bait for a very much larger number, 3-4 million.
They were not brought into the country through this illegal program, they were already here, trafficked across international boundaries by their parents.
How do we deport the parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. after we give free passes to 3-4 million of the 30 million illegal aliens?
We don’t want to keep them and dreams of them voting Republican are delusional.
Yes, the price of amnesty for DACA should be they have to turn in their parents for prosecution for child trafficking and removal.
No speaking Spanish at work. Particularly the break room.
Givethem a PATH to citizenship with a long tail to get there. A decade or two as a green card holder with any infraction causing them to be deported and no chain migration allowed once they are in exchange for an end of lottery visas, chain migration, lower legal immigrant levels and an end to the h1b and the wall?
Absolutely no brainer to make that deal.
Exactly!! Trump is genius. This is actually an excellent offer that many DACA will think is pretty damn good. Only the Dems will be spitting hot rivets over this. Trump, ‘be da man’ again.
preventing them from migrating here?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The premise of the DACA tale is that they were brought here by their parents. The parents are here.
Unless we amnesty them too, we will be breaking up families.
Send them all home and restore the rule of law.
Even 3 to 4 is not that huge a number when you consider that 25% are functionally illiterate in their own language and an equal number have committed (or will commit) crimes. It will be a long 12 years and... and we will have heavily progressed in slamming the door on this long overdue charade.
Democrats are beginning to see how quickly their permanent underclass of imported voters can turn on them. A booming economy and a 12 year wait makes the whole DACA deal too expensive for the Democrats.
You folks are a bit slow.
Wow, a liberal here insulting conservatives. The thread you put up was disputed by 99% of the posters.
Ideal. But that is never going to happen. I find it hard to believe that you really think it would.
“More hoards will invade American as we once again prove that we will pay welfare and give away our precious citizenship to invaders who do not respect our laws.
The border invasion will get worse.”
Bears repeating.
I understand the illegal crossings are again at an all time high as the talk of amnesty spreads.
Yes.... Yes.... Yes.....
Those folks are not covered under this offer.
If I rob a bank, my son would not be allowed to keep the money.
These illegals should not prosper from their parents crime. Theyve already gotten enough free stuff from taxpayers. And they are not Americans nor do they want to be. Ive known hundreds of them, they are just entitled. So they think.
So many on this thread appear to be in favor of amnesty now.
It’s odd.
I bet if Trump had floated this idea of a wall for amnesty of 1.8 million gringos when he ran, he would have been tossed aside as a fraud.
Any amnesty, no matter how small, will only build support for more amnesty.
3-4 million is 10% of the total number.
and then the very brief process itself begins. They're trying to make it about 6 months.
