The American Constitution is an outdated, malfunctioning piece of junk and it's only getting worse.
When written, the Constitution made a morally hideous compromise with slavery that took a war and 750,000 lives to make right. And while its basic structure sort of worked for awhile in the 20th century, the Constitution is now falling prey to the same defects that has toppled every other similar governing document the world over.

“The author is dishonest. The XX Century in America was characterized by an increasing rejection of the Constitution. The present government is a nightmare swamp because it has spread to areas forbidden to it by the Constitution. What we have is not a failure of the Constitution, but a refusal of people in government to obey it.”
Well said!
Agree, just as most believe that Bill Clinton was impeached over a stained blue dress.
Those who control the information streams, control what the public thinks about various events. This is why I keep trying to tell people that our number one focus should be on taking away the power of the existing media/information systems to control the "news."
We have to break their monopoly or they will eventually break our system of governance.
That depends on whose history you believe. The facts are that food/agriculture was clearly more in the south, but south was poor and had no way to make a lot of manufactured/industrial products that could be shipped overseas.
Calhoun and his tariffs created the biggest rifts creating anger at time of war beginning....
Maybe this info will show how it came down to a Civil War:

European manufacturing and industrial processes were at that time superior to those in the US. They didn't want or need manufactured goods, they wanted and needed raw materials mostly. The tariffs were put into place to keep the European manufactured goods from flooding US markets and displacing American manufacturers of same or similar goods.
Here is a statement of the export trade from a New York Author from a book written in 1860.
Others have shown me sources of information that demonstrate an even greater amount of Southern wealth production than is shown in this book.
Calhoun and his tariffs created the biggest rifts creating anger at time of war beginning.... Maybe this info will show how it came down to a Civil War:
The "tariffs" have long been cited as a major cause of the war, but I think this is a red herring that has long been advanced to discredit the real economic reasons for the war. The "tariff" issue is one part of it, but it is much bigger than just the tariff.
The threat to the North East was the possibility of the South intercepting the lion's share of European trade, and the possibility that they would undermine existing manufacturing and industry in the North by setting up their own industries from the additional capital they would receive by handling direct European trade themselves.
They threatened the possibility of capturing the west and midwest by becoming the supply system for these regions. As their economics led them to closer ties to the south, so too would their politics and allegiances eventually have followed.
Well, I will accept that fact, although many claim otherwise. Have a good evening.
The Constitution is the worst form of government, except for every other one ever devised.
I kinda like the Constitution. I vote we keep it.
A look at Ryan Cooper’s Facebook page and you know he is a flaming Communist. What else would he be as a Sander’s supporter?
I was surprised as well when I learned of this. I had always thought the North, having four times the population, created most of the trade.
Have a good evening.
And you as well.
The solution to many of the problems in the government is to go BACK to the Constitution, not scrap the Constitution. This author thinks that we need a more efficient, stronger central government. The original idea was an limited central government, with States that held much of the power. That is why the House was elected by the people and the Senate by the States. Going back to that would mean that Senators would do what was best for their state, not do what was best for their re-election.
