WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, a life-long diabetic, was treated by paramedics for low blood sugar at her home in Washington on Friday morning but was able to go to work afterward, a court spokeswoman said.
The 63-year-old Sotomayor, one of the nine-member court’s four liberal justices, was diagnosed as a child with type 1 diabetes and has openly discussed her experience with the chronic illness in the past. She was named to the court in 2009 by Democratic former President Barack Obama.
“Justice Sotomayor experienced symptoms of low blood sugar at her home this morning. She was treated by D.C. Emergency Medical Services and is doing fine,” spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said in a statement. “She came to work, resumed her usual schedule, and will be participating in planned activities over the weekend.”

I’m surprised any President would nominate a type I to a lifetime appointment like the SC.

I am not glad that she is OK because to come to God many need to be brought low, some very, very low. It is a small price to pay to be driven out of eternal hell. I pray for her eternal salvation.
Plus as long as she is on the SC she has the power to do vast evil and harm for many people. Being a leftist she is likely to exercise her power for evil. I pray that a Godly, Conservative person takes her place.

I was thinking today...Have we recently had a vet on the court? All those JAG attorneys running around and not one is a patriotic and competent attorney? One of two things should happen, either all those unpatriotic clueless JAGs need to be chucked out on their behind or one needs to be put on the court.
Sorry, but you can have a predisposition to diabetes. My grandmother passed from complications, my mother has it, many members do. And, their lives are as different as can be. We are watching for me to develop it. I am hopeful, though. But, no sympathy needed for me if you are truly that cold.

Averaging various recent sources, I’d say life expectancy in 2018, for a woman with 1 diabetes is probably up to 69-70 years, especially if that woman has access to “the best” care.
“Productive” expectancy I cannot find much information on...
I should add - given her weight, taking 5 years off that estimate is likely about right.
