Star Trek takes PC to new extremes, even for Hollywood

Those of you (most of you) who haven't been watching the new Star Trek series, Star Trek Discovery, are missing out on a entirely new level of political correctness. The show features a black female protagonist named Michael; her boyfriend, a Klingon disguised as a Muslim-Arab security officer; an obese female cadet who is a genius in all areas of science; and a gay couple, one of whom is black and possibly also hispanic.

But that isn't enough for SJWs. They actually worry that the black gay character, who is also hispanic, is not visibly hispanic.

Exit question: Where is there left to go? Where can political correctness go after this?

Oh, you’re really not going to like the answer to those questions. It will involve minors.

The gay doctor was killed last week.

This has caused anger from gay activists.

I quit on this show after one episode, with the cast’s “kneeling” BS.

The SJW stuff in the show, just like with the new Star Wars movie, is stupid and ridiculous. I believe most young people feel the same way. Kids in high school and college have classmates who spout all the SJW nonsense and roundly ignore them (fortunately). Some kids (SJW’s) were simply born idiots. Hopefully they grow out of it at some point.

If a person can look past the SJW stuff on Star Trek: Discovery; it’s actually a pretty good show with good special effects and CGI eye candy.

The problem is the people in Hollyweird. They are completely out of step with the rest of the world and nation but they don’t seem to care. Unfortunately they call the shots on how a show is made, what the story line is, and how to assemble a cast. They are damaged people for sure but the other people who put the shows together manage to save it despite this SJW nonsense.

If you read the article; it states the gay doc is coming back. Probably healed from death by the spores or his gay mystical spore lover or something.

Oops. I forgot Hollyweirdos are super smart and all-knowing supreme beings from a sick parallel universe sent here to teach us all how to be proud sexual deviants.

;)

I sure wish we could figure out how to send them back to their sick universe.

If you like Star Trek, you should watch the first Black Mirror episode of Season 4 on Netflix. Just a big spoof the original tv series.

The TNG episodes with John de Lancie as “Q” were usually pretty good — his character was a nice foil to the smarmy, self-righteousness of Captain Picard. You could tell that he enjoyed portraying the character ;-)

These politically correct clymers are apparently unaware that the original series had a major Hispanic character in the person of Commodore Jose Mendez (Malachi Throne) who played a key role in the two part episode, The Menagerie. That was 1966.

I love star trek, i still even buy every book that comes out. I only watched the first nuTrek film but not the rest because they were just bad and weren’t representative of what Star Trek was about. I havent watched and refuse to watch a second of Dis becuase of that photo they tweeted showing the main cast kneeling like the NFL.

ST:TNG was extremely PC.

For its time, yes. Compared to the new regime, it seems positively retrograde now.

Ditto. They added one too many straws on the camels back.

My family isn’t watching this nonsense, or the Orville. Why destroy a good thing by getting all lefty preachy?
