"You guys know what this represents? Maybe it's the calm before the storm," President Donald Trump told reporters ominously as he posed with military commanders and their spouses in October 2017.
Since then "The Storm", partly in reference to this moment, has taken on life as a conspiracy theory wrapped up in conspiracy theories on pro-Trump message boards on online forums.
The Storm boils down to the idea that the US president is working to wipe out the effects of globalisation, a concept much hated by his supporters. To achieve this, he will apparently dismantle the 'deep state'.
This widely discredited conspiracy theory suggests that the US government is secretly run by a cabal of officials and elite members of finance and industry in a way that negates democracy.
The term has also been used to describe the leadership in Turkey and Russia. On top of this, every move Trump makes is a victory for The Storm - regardless of how it appears or is reported.
How do they know this? Because they are tipped off by a user known as QAnonymous, or QAnon, whose name references Q: the highest level of security clearance in the US.
They believe that this Q figure, who first posted on 4Chan on 28 October, has taken to message boards like 4Chan and 8Chan - widely regarded as the Wild West of the internet - to share the top-secret goings on in the highest reaches of power.
The topics discussed include Pizzagate. This saw websites falsely spreading [yeah, right] the rumour that the Democractic Party was running a child trafficking ring in the basement of the Comet Ping Pong fast food restaurant in Washington DC - culminating in a gunman opening fire there in November 2016.

Donna Brazile should have to explain in detail why she feared for her life. One doesn’t put a statement like that out there and expect to leave it hanging there. I’d love to know what more she knows.

I hope Trump pulls back the curtain on all this stuff. I think that's what Qanon is trying to do.
He’s left 4 Chan. He’s moved boards a few times. I’ll look for a link I have that shows his posts and nothing but his posts (no eye-bleed formatting or other users commenting) and post it here.
Qanon is a Trump operative who has abandoned Twitter for a new direct channel to America.
Qanon has on several occasions shown evidence that he is on the inside (think Mont Blanc pen).
And what he says indicates that he has the full support of the POTUS.
I have family members who are not Trump supporters. I have thought about warning them of a possible big event.
Still waffling on that.
Those that follow Q posts and try to get a brake down of posts. Prayingmedic seems like a good person. he isn't 100% but gives a good overview of things.

This is the best representation of Q posts I’ve found. So far it’s been up to date and 100% accurate but I imagine it was fall under hack attack soon. But for now....

Yes. Definitely. Q warned that the disinformationists (i.e., MSM) were heading our way this week. Post 526 on the page I linked of his posts includes his warning that disinformation was coming.

If you watch the video of when Trump says this, he clearly draws the letter Q with his finger.
