Democratic Sen. Cory Booker seethed with anger over Trump’s alleged “shithole countries” comment during a hearing with Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen.
During a hearing in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Nielsen faced numerous questions about Trump’s alleged insistence that countries like Haiti and African countries are “shithole countries.”
“I hurt,” Booker cried. “When Dick Durbin called me I had tears of rage when I heard about this experience in this meeting.”
“For you not to feel that hurt and that pain and to dismiss some of the questions of my colleagues saying, ‘I’ve already answered that line of questions’ when tens of millions of Americans are hurting right now because of what they’re worried about right now in the White House — that’s unacceptable to me,” Booker yelled at Nielsen.
Booker claimed that he receives “enough death threats” and sees enough “people plotting” that Trump’s comments cause him to become enraged.
“Your silence and your amnesia is complicity,” he concluded.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average crossed the 26,000 point milestone at the opening bell on Tuesday.
The Dow made the latest 1,000 point milestone move in a record-setting seven sessions, breaking the previous record of moving 1,000 points in 23 sessions. That record was set when the Dow moved from 24,000 to 25,000.
“Investors smell profit, more and more from American corporations. And that’s the bedrock for stock prices,” Stuart Varney said on “Fox & Friends.”

I’m from Detroit, Michigan. I loved my city while growing up, but it changed. Depending on where you are in the city, that description of Sh*tHole is a fair description.
To me, if your city is seen this way, the label is a way of saying ‘Let’s admit what we all see and start to do better’.
Detroit is slowly recovering now, but they have a long ways to go. Some areas will never be what they once were, mainly because many folks have given up and moved away.
