Congressional investigations into the Trump dossier have so far been focused on the FBI and Justice Department. They still are, but now investigators are also looking into a possible Obama State Department role in the collection and dissemination of sensational and still-unverified allegations against candidate Donald Trump gathered by a former British spy working for the Hillary Clinton campaign.
In addition to having contacts in the Obama Justice Department and FBI, that former spy, Christopher Steele, was also well-connected with the Obama State Department. A book published in November by a correspondent at the Guardian, "Collusion: Secret meetings, dirty money, and how Russia helped Donald Trump win," noted that Steele's 2010 work on the World Cup soccer corruption investigation won him the trust not only of the FBI, but the State Department as well. From author Luke Harding:

The fact that these people (Strzok, Page, the Ohrs, etc) were meeting up regularly in a Deep Web/Tor chat to conspire against an elected president is sedition by definition. Can somebody wake up Rip Van Sessions?
Trust sessions.
Yea, he has a plan. Double secret probation.
Trust Sessions?
Why? he recused himself from ALL of this. He set it up so he can do nothing and left it in the hands of the architects of this plot. Trust Sessions yeah right.
First I’ve heard of them chatting via tor. Got a source for that?
I like York. He’s got sources and finds leads nobody else has.
And Sessions is leading from behind. Or something.
Geez. Was there anyone not involved in creating the dossier?
One of those meetings included John Kerry, Lynch, Rice and Comey and took place in the situation room of the White House.
I think this was the meeting where Comey suggested writing an op ed in the NY Times on Russian meddling.
No mention of Obama.
Sessions is busy watching Matlock. Leave him alone.
So why wasn’t Obama’s name in the headline?
They're looking into whether:
<><> Steele did reports about Trump, perhaps similar to the published dossier.
<><> whether those reports made their way to the Obama State Dept.
<><> what individual State Dept officials did in relation to Steele, and,
<><> whether contacts occurred between Obama's State Dept, the FBI or DOJ about anti-Trump material.
It's not yet clear whether Obama/Hillary State Dept activity WRT the project took place
(A) in the months leading up to the 2016 election (B), during the transition, or, (C) both.
Trump's opponent Hillary Clinton was, of course, secretary of state from 2009 to 2013.
If people do NOT get indicted on charges and convicted (and I don’t mean the peeons) from this bullchit dossier/FISA warrant investigation it will be a sad day in our lives and this Country. It will be over....
Do you think sessions and Trump are just learning about this just now Byron
York?
If anything comes of this, and I doubt that it will, it will be drowned out by more important matters such as what word Trumo used.
I am convinced that Sessions is getting the Roberts treatment: Do what we say or we will expose something about you.
And Sessions is worried about people smoking pot. Good grief what a disaster Sessions IS!
I bet he’s gay or frequents gay bath houses.
“Why? he recused himself from ALL of this. He set it up so he can do nothing and left it in the hands of the architects of this plot. Trust Sessions yeah right.”
Actually, he set it up so he could focus on other things. Does anyone really believe that if Trump thought he was in trouble for this he would have let Sessions recuse himself? If Sessions didn’t recuse himself, right now he would be part of the investigation as someone on Trump’s campaign. The DOJ would have been entirely shut down which means things like MS13, Other immigration issues, the drug issues and other important things would not have happened. No judges would have been voted on and no investigations into things like Uranium 1 would be happening, nor investigations into FBI corruption.
The modis operandi of the left is to shut down the DOJ when a Republican is in office and politicize the DOJ when a Democrat is in office. Sessions recusing himself has kept the DOJ open for business.
Everybody really needs to step back and breathe. Hillary Clinton is a distraction at this point. DOJ will get around to her and more specifically to Obama once the dossier and FISA warrant is addressed. Personally, I think Obama using a fake dossier to get a FISA warrant to spy on Trump takes precedence over Hillary and is a direct threat to our personal freedom and national security.
Hillary is going down. Not for the dossier, but for Uranium one and the Clinton Foundation Pay to Play.
Be patient and stay tuned. We are just entering the theater. The curtain hasn’t even gone up yet.
No doubt president Jarrett was there.
Obama was probably still snoozing and stinking in his little Che jammies when the meeting went on
"My investigations have turned up no evidence of pot smoking. These are great Americans." - signed, AG Jeff Sessions
Keep your eyes out for David Kramer, currently senior fellow at mccain institute for international leadership at arizona state university.
Kramer was State Dept employee from 2000 - 2009 working his way up to Asst Sec of State for Democracy Human Rights & Labor
His career at state included Russian Affairs as he had an extensive background including family ties, trips to Russia, & teaching Russia Studies at Clark University.
McCain tasked Kramer to hop over the England & “Pick Up” the dossier from Steele.
Kramer is now under subpoena to testify before congressional committees for his involvement with the dossier.
Personally, l could see kramer collaborating with steele & nellie ohrin production of the dossier.....or parts of it?????
