LONDON (AP) -- Dolores O'Riordan, lead singer of Irish band The Cranberries, died suddenly on Monday. She was 46.

And The Corrs.....Heck, somehow, even Shane McGowan is still around.
This is not one of the more well known hits, but a very emotional song. You can sense the pain her voice.
The Cranberries - Daffodil Lament (Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?)
Here's Cranberries doing "Shattered" (not the Rolling Stones song)
Sad. RIP. :-(
She was ostracized after she came out as pro-life. It definitely hurt her career.
“You don’t have to agree with Dolores opinions to find it refreshing that she has them. Ever since Sinead O’Connor was crucified for tearing the Pope up on the telly, there’s been a reluctance among Irish artists to say anything that may impact on their record sales. That includes going against the liberal grain, as O’Riordan did when she condemned abortion.
“I think Sinead’s pretty cool” she says. “She’s Irish and outspoken - sometimes to a point where it’s her own undoing - but at least she’s original and does her own thing. She’s not a safe Mary O’Shea kind of head. She s a little bit crazy sometimes, I guess, but I think we all are.
“{As for what I said} I can understand people having to have abortions when they get raped or whatever. In certain situations, grand, but still I don’t like the idea of a baby being sucked out and thrown into a bucket squealing and crying. It’s sick. I think, as well, that they shouldn’t abort foetuses after a certain amount of time because they do start moving. I had a baby so I know. It s one of those things where I’ve always said what I thought. I could never not give a toss, y’know?””
I must admit, I’ve been kind of down all day because of this, strange how some deaths can hit you harder than others, even though I can’t say I was a huge fan of theirs’. She seemed to be a sweet person, albeit with her crosses to bear. I pray she’s in a better place.
Me too, same thing.
Very sad, mother of 3. Sounds like she may have taken her own life. RIP.
This is my favorite one of their songs

Pray the autopsy determines that isn’t so.

*I've never lived anywhere near Boston, but my work schedule, combined with this being winter, enables me to pick up WBZ, KDKA, and WBBM on the way home most nights.
Very sad I really liked Dreams. A lovely woman is gone due to her internal demons.
Her death bothers me too even though I only know three Cranberries songs. Where I lived she was played everywhere. Back in 1994 or so. The Irish Tourist Board was running a TV commercial w Cranberries’s Dreams in the background.
I pray that wasn’t the reason.
Have to wait and see what the cause was I suppose, if they ever tell us.
I swear I liked one of their songs, but I sure can’t remember it.
