That said, along the lines of sober assessments, let us do a simple back-test of the forecasts:
I don’t disagree. It is astonishing that so many candidates run because they can, not because the public wants them. Dole, McCain and Romney come to mind. I believe you are also right that some of the “Republican” candidates hate Trump and say so.
I do like it, however, when the media makes stuff up about how well their anointed candidate is doing. It disengages the Democratic voters and engages the Republican voters. Quite the opposite of what the media wants. You’d think they’d stop with the phony polls. But they conflate high poll numbers with winning. It’s more of, “If I say so, it becomes so,” magical thinking.
The good news about Montana is that hopefully the GOP can take out Testor; that would be terrific.
