Email Address SUBMIT President Trump defended himself from claims that he is a racist after reportedly saying Haiti and some African nations are “shithole countries” last week.
“No. I’m not a racist. I’m the least racist person you will ever interview,” Trump said Sunday before eating dinner with House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy at Mar-a-Lago, his club in Florida.
The subject of Trump’s views on race — specifically whether he is racist against black and brown people — have been called into question this week after his reported comments during an Oval Office meeting on immigration.
Trump also reportedly repeatedly questioned an intelligence officer of Korean descent about where she was from, not accepting New York or Manhattan for an answer, until she said her parents were from South Korea. He then reportedly asked another staffer why the “pretty Korean lady” wasn’t working on North Korea.
Those statements come months after Trump said there were good people on both sides of the violence in Charlottesville, Va., over the summer, one of which included the KKK and neo-Nazis.
Trump was dining with McCarthy to talk about a busy week in Congress, which must reach a spending deal by Jan. 19 or the government will run out of money and shut down.

i see it as a person’s priority should not be to not offend, but to tell the truth.
We live in a country where people have increasingly been taught to lie rather than possibly offend anyone. (though there is no way to never offend everyone)
Trump tells truth often, people don’t like it, aren’t used to it and are so stuck on feelings rather than the real issues that need to be dealt with.
Trump once again is right.
He should just say (as he is) that he is not a racist. Then go on to say that there is an element, including the fake news media, that are trying to twist and redefine the term ‘racist’ to cover any person of purely European descent. It is a racist movement through and through, attempting to project what they are onto their chosen targets through mau-mauing and intimidation.
It needs to stop. It makes me sick. It is MAKING me sick.
Mr. Trump was NEVER called a racist before he announced. Well, there was that thing with the tenants back in the 70s but I’ve read his side of the story on that (in the Art of the Deal), and I believe him. He’s probably not racist “enough.” He kept Omarosa on until she imploded.
Yep. I remember that. I also remember Melania befriending and tending to the Cruz’ children. I won’t speculate why they needed her attention (harrumph because Ted & Heidi were absent).

It means he cared about Carson as a person as Carson was bumped and others went ahead of him, and this illustrates his general concern for fellow human beings, whatever color they may be.

That’s Al Sharpton. Al Sharpton is a racist and anti-Semite and a swindler and an all-around awful person. Maybe being buddies with Al Sharpton isn’t the image President Donald J. Trump really wants to push.
Like Mia Love (not that I’m happy with her comments) - they took words that they put in the president’s mouth, and then put words in HER mouth in her reaction, resulting in a headline which read something like Mia Love Deplore’s Trump’s Racist Comments.
This has got to stop. Why is there never serious talk of curbing this constant trashing. It is not good for the national security of the United States.
The MSM did not trash the Won so as not to appear racist. The msm trashes trump for the same reason.

Anoreth was responding to the comment about Trump and Ben Carson, so that is what I was referring to.
Sharpton is a whole nother matter...
only thing he wanted was Carson out of his way. If Carson had made more ground he would have gladly said something racist to his base to make up for it.
Luckily Carson didn’t get elected and is no doubt doing something useful for America elsewhere.
Most normal people do not have to announce that they aren’t racist after suggesting that countries with majority black populations don’t belong in America. Nothing to see here.
