OSLO - Many Norwegians rejected on Friday a suggestion by U.S. President Donald Trump that they would be more welcome to move to the United States than immigrants from “shithole countries” such as Haiti or African nations.
The Nordic country, one of the richest in the world by GDP per capita, was last year named the happiest nation on the planet and is known for a cradle-to-grave welfare state funded in part by large reserves of oil and natural gas.
“On behalf of Norway: Thanks, but no thanks,” tweeted Torbjoern Saetre, a politician representing Norway’s Conservative Party in a municipality near Oslo.
Others condemned the U.S. president’s comments as inappropriate or racist.
“We are not coming. Cheers from Norway,” one woman wrote.
While hundreds of thousands of Norwegians emigrated to the U.S. in the 19th century, just 502 out of a population of 5.3 million people moved there in 2016, down 59 from the previous year, according to Statistics Norway.

The reports I've read indicate that their oil is running out.When that happens they may change their tune about coming to the United states.
I grew up in a city that was primarily Norwegian or Norwegian descent. If you weren’t a Johnson, Olsen, Jensen, or Swenson you were hard to find in the phonebook.
Now, their traditional treat of lefsa was great but for God’s sake people, they eat lutefisk! Lutefisk!

Agreed. We should be mostly publishing the truth on FR, not the lies, and as much good news as possible to bolster morale. We should find and post reasonably reliable sources that have already deconstructed the lie and replaced it with the truth and with a headline that says the truth. We need much more of that on FR IMO. The key is the headline and the first few sentences because not everyone has time to drill down. The endless stream of negative, lying headlines sabotages our purpose IMO.

For whatever reason most beautiful Nordics & Germans look like Barbies under 30 and after that they resemble Helga or worse.

Socialist states always have to have positive cash flow to keep flying. Without the introduction of cash or value from somewhere else, the Socialist Welfare system crashes and burns.

Existential Scandinavian Avian Zen
A Swede with a parrot on his shoulder is hungry so he stops at a Lutefisk stand while in Oslo on business. The sign says: “Lutefisk, 30 Kroner:
“Geefe-a me-a a beeg peeece-a veet herreeng beets und ixtra steenk” asks Olaf.
And he hands the vendor a 50 kroner note.
The vendor prepares the gelatinous delicacy, with pickled herring bits and extra stink.
The Swede waits patiently for his change, but the vendor is helping another square head and seems to be ignoring him.

And the vendor says, “Change comes from within.”

And the parrot says, “Stockholm. The place is crawling with them.”
