I enjoy the Caribbean, and most places look up what’s left of the old Jewish population. Usually an old Synagogue, graveyard, and some population on many islands. Usually Sephardic, fleeing Spain or later Brazil, or the various islands as they came under temporary Spanish control. Not much in Puerto Rico, nothing I’ve seen. A few conversos said to have stayed after Columbus’ second voyage, but fled to the hills and assimilated. The constant presence of the Inquisition, there really wasn’t much of a Jewish presence till the 1930s. Not that a few thousand today is much of a presence. Still one of their prominent revolutionaries in the early 19th century was nominally Jewish. His dad, don’t know what he considered himself, and his revolution failed. I find editorials like this from people who likely have had zero contacts with Jews, addressed to readers in the same situation interesting in a sad way. Guess I prefer the Chinese and Japanese in the same circumstances who think Jews are business and educational genius’

My roof is still damaged from the hurricane that hit Florida before they got hit and the roofs of lots of my friends are too. I don’t know one person who actually got money from FEMA in my area and we were hit hard . My previous house what hit by three hurricanes in two , no FEMA help their either.
They need to fix their own just like most Floridians have to fix their own . I cleared my acreage of damaged trees by myself too .
