I wonder what happens when a neighborhood goes HOA.

Are homeowners grandfathered in if they don’t want to genuflect to the overlords?

I have never heard of a neighborhood “going HOA” against anyone’s wishes — unless there is an obscure item in your property title that says it could happen in the future.

Ours went to an HOA to build a road and then they tried to grab more power. Funny, they failed so the HOA was no more. A few years later, some CA imports tried to start it up again and I gave them a royal dressing down.

BTW, the HOA never got the road built so we homeowners built it to county specs and turned it over to the county for upkeep.

Hush!!! we have lived here over 20 years. No HOA.
However, the landscape changed and now we have younger families moving in. They squawk over every little thing, a dog barks, a loud plane overhead. Apparently everything revolves around their babies naps. One wants speed bumps in the neighborhood to make everybody slow down!
Some are making noises about an HOA and yeah, we’re not interested. I will move 1st!!!
