Congressman Wants Moment of Silence for Every Gun Violence Victim

WASHINGTON -- A Maryland Dem is trying to change House rules so that the chamber observes a moment of silence for every shooting victim in America, not just mass shootings and terror attacks.

The House has recently observed moments of silence for victims of the October mass shooting in Las Vegas, the Halloween bike path terror attack in Manhattan, and the November mass shooting at a church in Sutherland Springs, Texas.

Freshman Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) introduced H.R. 666 this week "to observe a 60-second moment of silence in the House for those killed by gun violence in the United States on the next legislative day after any such individual dies."

Yeah, we’ll get right on it immediately after a “Year of Silence” for 60 million dead and often butchered innocent babes.

If we can get Democrat politicians and the anchors for CNN and MSLSD to sign off on this personally, we’ve found a way to silence the left for good...

“These liberals know no end to their idiocy.”

But it feels so good to do these empty meaningless gestures.

How about a moment of silence for everyone killed by an illegal alien?

Better yet, why not change the name of the House of Representatives to “A High School Football Game” and have the wackos down at the aCLU outlaw all “moments of silence”.

I wonder if anyone has ever done a study to see what the effect on the violent crime rate would be if ...the LAWS were followed as they are written ?

If ten are killed in a Chicago weekend, will there be ten "moments of silence"? Is ten moments ten times longer than one moment? Or is a "moment" infinitely elastic so one thousand moments equals one moment?

I think they need a high powered and expensive consultant to sort all this out. The sheer momentousness of this staggers the mind...

Mass murderer & devout jihadi Nidal Malik Hasan’s trip to Islamic paradise will be delayed for as long as he is stealing oxygen, until the day he croaks. Sucks to be him until then.

He gets forcibly shaved every day he’s in Leavenworth in violation of his Muslim faith. Still in the Army and rules are rules. Indignity inflicted by infidels, how dare they?

Thanks to the brave wounded cop who shot him, Hasan is mostly paralyzed & can offer only feeble resistance to the barber’s cold steel.

A smuggled vid of which would sell like hotcakes.

“Scary words: ‘Something’s got to be done about this!’”

Exactly!

Something must be done!
This is something!
Therefore, it must be done!

I agree but add a modification. Read the names, the city of where they were shot, the name and political affiliation of the mayor of the city, and the name and political affiliation of the state. And then state whether the state has carry laws or gun control laws. Don’t fight it but turn it back on the Dems.

I just left the WWII Museum in New Orleans a few minutes ago and your words were my exact thoughts when in the documentary film, Hitler started decreasing the value of life of certain races in order to justify his actions.

Let’s make this bipartisan, so in addition to guns, there can also be a moment of silence for every aborted baby.

In 2015 13,000 people died from gunshot wounds
37,461 died in car wrecks

We would get three times as much bang for our buck (pun intended) if we banned automobiles

Dear Congressman Moron of Moronland,

Guns aren’t violent. People are. Violence is a characteristic of human beings.

Thank you for ceasing to abuse our language with your dishonesty.

Chris

I live in the People’s Republic of Maryland & this Guy is a complete nut(shows you the intelligence of the voters here). If he wants moment of silence for each victim, I say start with Baltimore, that should shut him up for about 5 hours.
