WASHINGTON—U.S. Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL) released the following statement on the Trump Administration’s immigration policy demands presented to Senate negotiators this afternoon. The White House released the same list of demands in October of 2017. Today, they demanded an additional $18 billion in funding for the construction of a border wall.
“President Trump has said he may need a good government shutdown to get his wall. With this demand, he seems to be heading in that direction. I’ve been clear from the beginning that Senate Democrats will consider reasonable border security measures in order to pass the Dream Act into law. The Trump Administration set this crisis in motion when it ended DACA four months ago. It’s outrageous that the White House would undercut months of bipartisan efforts by again trying to put its entire wish-list of hardline anti-immigrant bills—plus an additional $18 billion in wall funding—on the backs of these young people.
Bipartisan negotiations continue in good faith among senators who understand what is at stake, and I will continue my efforts to reach a bipartisan agreement.”
It has been four months since the Trump Administration terminated DACA and called for Congress to come up with a legislative solution. More than 14,500 Dreamers have already lost their DACA status, and beginning on March 5th, 1,000 additional young people will lose this protection each day.
The only way Democrats got DACA in the first place is because Obama was willing to violate U. S. law by having one of his Secretaries issue an EO establishing it. The House and the Senate were never able to pass it into law. They still can’t.

Translation: I’m trying to sneak around you and not only reinstate DACA and make it kosher, but also slip in amnesty. The RINOs want it. We want it. You’re the only one who really wants a wall and an end to chain immigration, but the RINOs are too embarrassed to come right out and say it because of you. Just you wait ‘til we find a pretext to impeach you. You are so going to get got!

What part of illegal do you not understand. It is called following U.S. Immigration laws already on the book.
In my humble opinion, Trump is being too nice. Americans made it clear - NO DACA. NO anchor babies. NO chain migration. NO Visa lottery. Hell NO to Amnesty of any kind.

Just like future tax cuts future wall never get built. Maybe you should catch that mysterious meeting they had today where Trump said he would sign what ever they send him.
He rejected “ a 7 year “ payout of the wall as “not gonna happen”. and he demands the wall except where there are impenetrable barriers such as “raging waters” or mountains peaks. He know all money must be secured right now or he loses the Daca leverage. He will be fine here. We must have faith and trust our president until he breaks his word and then he is political history.
Hard to see how this is not exactly what will happen.
Rush was trying to make sense of it today as well. In the end he decided that this clambake had nothing to do with immigration. We shall see.
