When Paul Ryan smoked Nehlan in the GOP primary, everyone here on FR who is not a fan of Ryan should have gotten a reality check and realized that many of these establishment Republicans aren’t nearly as unpopular with their constituents as you’d believe if you only read FreeRepublic posts all day.

Nehlen has turned out to be totally unsupportable, maybe there to ensure Ryan wins.

I think his district is a Democrat district.

There are too many two faced double talking chameleon RINOS to be trusting any of them. Personally, I have seen enough of Ryan to believe he fits the above description to a T.

If Paul Ryan indeed quits, he will name his heir apparent and the good Repiblicans of CD 1 will vote for that person overwhelmingly. It will not be Nehlen.

Naturally, Ryan is very popular in his district.

His constituents lean heavily to the left, and are unapologetic Globalists, which is why Ryan is unbeatable.

Some of the wisest words ever printed here. You could add the Murtha and McCain elections as well.

Exactly, there are many posters here that hate all republicans no matter how they vote. Who are these people? Are they demrats, commies, liberfarians, socialist or what?

Interesting article. Paul Ryan has lost Democrat and independent support. There are Democrat cities in his district and

Historically, most voters are against almost all Congressional incumbents .... except their own.

Suppose 10 Rs and 10 Ds resign/don’t run again due to sex scandal and similar reasons. Those are the easiest seats to target.

That they are empty due to scandal should wake us up to the fact that we need to find quality candidates. Better 10 quality candidates nationwide to increase our margin by 10, than 20 or 30 candidates not ready for prime time.

Luckily we have you, the Guiding Conscience of FR, to set us straight, right?

I've got no time for Nehlan's anti-Jewish idiocy or anything like it.

But you didn't used to arrive (at least) daily to hector us about our gullibility and stupidity.

Whatever has moved you to assume that pose and tone of late?

I guess I recall you more as a pleasant and genial bloke.

Yes. I pointed out Ryan was going to easily win re-election and was attacked mercilessly by some for stating an obvious truth. You can and should Primary challenge someone, if you believe they are not doing their job, but believing that because you don’t like a congressmans actions means he’s not popular in his home district is lunacy.

Ryan isn’t perfect but he was never under any threat of losing his primary.
