A new poll from Berkeley’s Institute of Government Studies suggests that no Republicans will make it onto the ballot for the key races in the 2018 general election in the deep blue state of California.

According to the poll, Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom and former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, both Democrats, are the two most likely candidates to make it past the June top-two or “jungle” primary, which allows the top-two vote-getters to proceed regardless of political party.

Newsom also leads Villaraigosa slightly among African-American and Asian voters. Both men are tied at 25 percent among millennial voters.

Meanwhile, in the Senate race, incumbent Democrat Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) leads State Senate President Pro Tem Kevin de León (D-Los Angeles). Feinstein has 41 percent support among likely voters, while de Leoón has just 27 percent.

It’s so sad to see what’s become of what must be the most blessed state in the union.

Remember when the GOP in the 1990s and 2000s would say that hispanics are natural conservatives? I thought at the time that that claim just didn’t sound right.

Sure enough, it was a lie in order to push more immigration, more cheap labor and to neuter the native white population.

I really do hope that there are military tribunals one day, to bring to justice the legions of political traitors who destroyed this country.

California is hell on earth. When I was there at times I felt like I was in the old Soviet Union. It’s just awful place to visit and to live.

CA should switch to the two demographics that the legislators and leaders of the state care about. There should be two parties: the Illegals and the Homeless.

Here. Here. That is the most sensible post on this thread. We should fight for every seat, every time.

One of the reasons the leftists have won is that they keep trying. We need to do the same. If you only get 10% of the vote, then try for 12-15% the next time, then 20%, 30%... until you are competitive. then go for domination.

Politics is not stagnant. California was Reagan country, Texas gave us LBJ. Now each is the opposite. The upper Midwest was a Democrat and progressive stronghold, but Trump won both Wisconsin and Michigan. Trump lost Minnesota, the only state that Mondale won in 1984, by less than 50,000 votes!

We have to take back California, but it will take hard work. We need to run candidates in San Francisco and Berkley and across California, not to win now, but to wear away and undermine their support like water on rock.

Leftist nanny state promises only bring human misery in the long run. Our principles of individual liberty allows people the freedom to pursue their own happiness.

Only a war to be fought. Either that or we literally become another Mexico. Nothing to laugh at watching what Obama did to use government against opponents. This is Banana Republic stuff. The founders actually predicted our downfall eventually and it is setting sun days.

The no-party “primary system” is doing what was always intended for it - turn a state into a one-party state.

You’re absolutely right; we are watching the same dynamic take shape here in NJ and neighboring NY. They have burdened working people and homeowners with so many costs to maintain the 47% that collect checks from the government that they (and their employers) are forced to flee - leaving behind the government worker and welfare castes, and an exploding immigrant population (including MANY illegals). Every minute there are less people pulling the wagon, and our government is replacing them with imports determined only to ride on the wagon - even if it slows to a crawl, like our economy. Still better than the Third World dumps they left behind...

In the long run this is destructive, for the same reason the 90% black vote for Dems is harmful for them: When you know longer have to fight for votes and can take them for granted, nobody has to really try to represent you anymore...
