While First Lady Melania Trump may want to visit "a desert island" for the holidays, her popularity may be inspiring others to flock to her native country, Slovenia.
Slovenia reported a 9 percent hike in tourism revenue this year, Reuters reported, with a 23.4 percent increase in tourists from the United States. The first lady was even more popular among Americans than her husband, President Donald Trump, according to a December Gallup poll.
Tourists may be exploring the central European country but Melania Trump would rather escape on a tropical vacation. On December 8, she paid a visit to the Childrens National Hospital in Washington, D.C., where she told a 10-year-old boy, "I would spend my holidays on a deserted island, tropical island, with my family."

Pretty cool stuff.
“You are either from somewhere else or sorely hurt. Tell me which one and Ill tell you where to look.”
A) Look for what? There is nothing to look for.
B) Somewhere else? Makes no difference.
C) Have given up on nothing.
D) where is your parish?
“Well if what you say about yourself is true I guess there are always exceptions. Half a dozen or so. There are probably surviving passenger pigeons out there somewhere too.”
I found one in New Jersey. Almost 30 years we been together and she gets more beautiful by the day.
I would love to see Slovenia. They have the beautiful Lake Bled and the Slovenian Alps.
I’m glad for you...really. Mine lasted a pretty good while too.
For any writers out there, that photo has all the makings of a childrens’ book about the angel coming down off the top of the tree on Christmas Eve . . .
Define class. Are you speaking of physical beauty? My nephew’s wife is drop-dead lovely. Are you speaking of mature graciousness? She has that in more than ample supply. How about hands-on ability and work ethic? As a farmers wife she has this too. As do many other American women that I know, have known and call as my friends, from various walks of life.
You sound rather bitter. Take a look around you. There are good and classy women everywhere. Many post on this forum.
IMHO Slovenia is the country I would want to live in if I were to move to Europe. Beautiful surroundings. Extremely civilized. Their heros are poets and artists. Virtually everyone speaks English. Education through the college level is free (but classes are conducted only in Slovenian!) The capital, Llubjana, is wonderful. All this, and the cost of living is fairly low!
Certainly within the American political class. She’s a goddess and almost certainly a genius. She speaks five languages fluently. Moochelle could barely speak English without the assistance of a black teen from Chicago.
Is it boosted to Upper Slovenia or to Lower Slovenia?
I went there once, by mistake, back in 1973. Lots of great forests and mountains.
If you drive there, just be sure you purchase a vignette. Or pay a big fine!
I used to work for a company that has a major supplier in Slovenia. Thought I was going to get to go there once, but the supplier resolved their issue without a visit from us. Always regretted not going - hear it’s a beautiful place.
Hey Bonemaker -
If Mears says you should move you’re in trouble! LOL
Hi,ladyjane,———have a wonderful Christmas.

Slovenia a very beautiful Alpine country. I was there in 1990 for short time. We stayed overnight in Bled, surely one of the most beautiful places in the world!!!!!
