The unquestioning media support that Democrats receive for their narratives regardless of their truth or falsity has led Congressional Democrats out on a limb that President Trump is about to saw off, when he signs the tax reform bill. Unlike foreign policy or regulatory reform, people pay much more attention to their personal experience than to political rhetoric. In fact, voters care so much about the economy that they will see that the Democrats have been blowing smoke at them.
James Freeman of the Wall Street Journal calls it The February Surprise the increased paychecks that the vast majority of American workers will experience in February, when the tax reform bill is implemented by IRS issuance of withholding guidelines in January. The contrast between the positive personal results and the extreme rhetoric of Democrats opposing it, will come home to voters in a very personal way.
Yesterday, on the House floor, Nancy Pelosi, in the words of Lifezette, went off the deep end, complete with goofy signs.

Not One of them!
Not One of them!
Democrats want our capitalism to fail. Democrats want to replace capitalism with communism. How can they not know how obvious they are?
A huge strategic mistake not making this retroactive. When most people realize that yes, they really are getting a tax cut they will know the Rats lied to them unfortunately that wont happen until after the 2018 mid terms. And the Rats may get the house as a result.
I actually agree with Pelosi’s sign.
The working poor NEED to have their taxes raised.
For too long they have had no skin in the game, with very destructive results.
Everybody should pay a share of Federal income tax.
Demoncrats and Never-Trumpers do not want President Trump to succeed at anything!
OP assumes the Dems have a choice in this.
They have tilted so far Left that their base has no tolerance for anyone to the Right of Chomsky.
You hit the nail square on the head!
Read the article.
The US Conference of Catholic Bishops is a great source of economic advise
For all your liberal friends who scream about this tax cut and how it won’t help, blah blah blah.
Just remind them of the 2% SS payroll tax relief act in 2011 put forward by the Dems and signed by Obama.
The economy is already moving from being stagnant for 8 years.
Latest quarter GDP growth estimates are 3.9%
That’s 3 quarters at 3% or higher.
Housing starts are at a 10 year high.
11 months from now, it’ll be hard to hide the evidence that the economy has taken a YUUUGE change.
Whether Dem voters want to admit it, the Obama years were terrible for economic attitudes.
And again, they won’t openly admit it, but the overall attitudes for the economy have already changed.
People, in general, have a higher attitude about the economy.
The hard core Dems will never realize or admit it. But the not so hard core libs and the independents will notice.
(They may not like to admit it, but they will notice)
If its the economy, stupid still applies, are the Dems (and Repubs) willing to sabotage the economy in order to being down Trump? Is it even possible for them to sabotage the economy at this point in time? Are they that shortsighted?
Everybody should pay a share of Federal income tax.

Agreed. I prefer a transaction tax in lieu of income tax.
Everyone is taxed on their ability to spend.
Even Wino Joe would contribute when he bought his bottle.
Way too many stupids in this nation to see reality many of which have benefited from a Trump economy but blinded by leftist propaganda hate for the president.
“A huge strategic mistake not making this retroactive.”
The huge mistake was in not passing the tax cut, the repeal of Obamacare, and the construction of the border wall in the first 100 days. If the GOP Congress had acted decisively and quickly as the year began, instead of slow walking and killing the major initiatives on which they were elected, the nation would be in a much better place today and the 2018 elections would be looking like a cakewalk for the GOP. Instead, the “do nothing” GOP Congress will be on the defensive in the 2018 elections and could lose its majority depending on how events play out over the next six months.
Likely 2018 being an election year, the GOP majority will continue to do nothing while being berated daily by the Democrats and the media. If they allow the Democrats and media to control the agenda, and the public discourse, they will lose in 2018 as independents shift to Democrats and disgusted conservative Republicans stay home.
The only Republican who seems to understand that the route to victory is controlling the narrative is President Trump. Ronald Reagan (with Lee Atwater’s help) understood the key is controlling the narrative.
Of course you prefer this. So do I. This is the ideal system because it will even tax the so called black market except for off the books purchases and barter. But still much better than what we have and interestingly should bring about the same revenue ( or more) because every transaction is really income for someone.
Just for argument’s sake, suppose
10% of Republicans pay more, 60% about the same, 30% less.
10% of Democrats pay more, 60% about the same, 30% less.
If the 10% of Republicans who pay more vote D, then how will the 30% of Dems who pay less vote?
Will Republicans/conservatives do a Trump in the Rustbelt and reach out and welcome that 30% like the Democrats will do to the 10% of Republicans they court? Or will Republicans/Conservatives use a synonym for deplorable about the 30% of Democrats who benefit from Republican policies.
And the Democrats who finally have jobs due to Republican policies... will we court them? Or call them names?
