With the Carolina Panthers surprisingly soon to be on the market, the franchise is getting interest from a few unexpected new potential owners, including Sean "Diddy" Combs, Stephen Curry, and now Colin Kaepernick.
Current owner Jerry Richardson announced on Sunday that he would be selling the team after a report from Sports Illustrated revealed accusations of sexual misconduct and the use of a racial slur.
Hip hop mogul and entrepreneur Sean "Diddy" Combs was one of the first high-profile celebrities to express interest in owning the team, tweeting out on Sunday night "I would like to buy the @Panthers. Spread the word. Retweet!" to his 13.9 million followers.
Shortly after that, NBA superstar Stephen Curry threw his hat in the ring, quote-tweeting Diddy's original message and adding "I want in!"

They have a RIGHT to a franchise and if they can’t afford it the government MUST provide it to them. (You know it’s coming.)
Qanon or 4Can is more interesting.
When the word broke on Sunday that the Panthers would be for sale, my first reaction was that now would be a good time to SELL a team, and a poor time to BUY one. Ticket sales hit a new low this weekend.
Too white ...
With Kaepernick on board They will have to change their name.
That’s right. Braman was the Cadillac dealer or something like that. I just remember it was a steal at what Tose had to sell it for. I was in high school in the 70s then. I think it was like 77 to 79 ish.
If I had a NFL football team today I would sell immediately.
They will all be fighting in about 2 years.
If they nailed Richardson, I can only imagine what must be out there on Jerry Jones.
“We’ll show Trump!” is not a business plan, although we see lots of financial decisions being made on exactly that basis. Winning!
Maybe as a part owner he can get to play again....probably the only way....
The Marge Schott shakedown.
Knock knock. Who’s there? Owen. Owen who? Owen 16 with Kap as the starter.
I was in Charlotte back in 1995 when the Panthers were new as an expansion team. The owner is a very stand up guy. A shame. But then again, sell high. Buy low. But doesn’t the owners association have to vote on your approval to buy the team. It’s like a private club.
Yup and then he sued them.
Don’t the majority of owners have to “approve” of the new ownership?
good...that will hopefully aid in the complete eradication of the NFL.
yeah, just like they approved the commish’s new contract
HA....I misread your comment initially and thought the b in bigger was another consonant ....shame on me.....but it also would fit....ha!
