With so much confusion surrounding the whole issue of gender identity, transgenderism, and gender dysphoria, it can be refreshing to have a true expert come out and give us some well-researched facts on the matter. That is exactly what Dr. Michelle Cretella, president of the American College of Pediatricians, has done in this new video. Her remarks are direct and very hard-hitting.
“Our bodies declare our sex,” opened Cretella in the video posted by The Daily Signal. “Biological sex is not assigned. Sex is determined at conception by our DNA. It is stamped into every cell of our bodies.”
This is where much of the misunderstanding lies, with young children being encouraged to explore different gender identities. But Cretella argues that this is all about complex human psychiatry, and that the science of biological sex is crystal clear:
“Human sexuality is binary. There are at least 6500 genetic differences between men and women. Hormones and surgery cannot and do not change this. An identity is not biological, it is psychological. Identity has to do with thinking and feeling. Thoughts and feelings are not biologically hardwired. Our thinking and feeling may be factually right or factually wrong.”

This reminds me of a science fiction novel I read in the early 1980s: “The Pnume” by Jack Vance. In this story, an alien race kept humans as slaves and gave them a drug called diko to prevent the onset of puberty.

About a quarter of the way through gestation, IF you happen to have a good copy of SRY (Sexual Region on the Y chromosome, although it can occur on an X chromosome) then it will express itself and convert the nascent ovaries into testes. If that process fails, you stay female. Intra-sex is female. That is why there are only two sexes.

The confused Boy on the TLC Show “I am Jazz” had that Blocker. He looks like a typical Teenage Girl for the most part.
If he looked like his unattractive Gender confused friend who didn’t get the Blocker, He wouldn’t be the Star of a TV Show, that’s for sure. Even the Entertainment Industry knows that attractiveness sells.
Now the Boy is 18 and wants (if he hasn’t already had) Gender Reassignment Surgery and it’s difficult because the “material” needed to turn His Outie into an Innie isn’t there because He never achieved Puberty.
Of course the Show makes Gender Dystopia Mental Illness look normal and anyone who disagrees with that is a Hater.
The discussions on the Show about Him finding Love and living a normal Life are delusional.

BTW, when I saw “Jack Vance” I though, whoa, but quickly realized that we’re in the same demographic. Also was surprised to learn that Vance only died four years ago, I’ve not been a reader of fiction, including scifi, in, hmm, 30 years and more. I *think* one of his stories (or I read a digest version of one of his novels, circa age 9) may be the one you’ve described. It ends (SPOILER ALERT) with him dreaming of blue-haired women (from a deceased crewmate who was alien) and in captivity.
I thought that was only allowed on FreeRepublic. (And there are those who wouldn't allow it if they had their way.)
