When men are being their sexual selves, drawn to a womans beauty, theyre not exploiting women. Theyre responding to them. The women are the fire, drawing a man toward their feminine heat.
This is true even for all those beautiful women who hook up with rich, powerful menthe arm candy. I was watching a Premier League soccer match the other day, and the camera focused on one of the rich owners and his wife. He was short, old, and terribly unattractive. She was a foot taller than him, with long blond hair and legs for miles. She was dressed in a fur, and diamonds graced her fingers. She didnt look miserable at all. In fact, she looked like the cat who ate the canary. One has to ask, who here is actually exploiting whom?

The Romans had a nifty saying along these lines: you can try to drive out Mother Nature with a pitchfork but she always comes back.
Outstanding.
Kipling is one of my favorites.
Undoubtedly you are correct about that. Still you makes yer choices and you takes yer consequences. It’s the way of the world.
Precisely. IOW, socialism is cynicism.But not cynicism about everything; that is quite impossible. If you are cynical about one thing, you cannot avoid naiveté about its opposite. Anyone who hears negative things about society - and journalism specializes in telling us negative things about society - cannot but think, there oughta be a law. And anyone who becomes cynical about society not only wants a law, they be come naive about the downside of government, and promote tyranny. For the public good, of course . . .
The very real contrast between society and government is the crux of the first two paragraphs of Common Sense, and IMHO they hold up well today.
Sorry for having foregone the sarcasm symbol ("/s") in my posting.
My point being that these societal rules are, in part, a fiction - that "bad boys" (who break the rules, but have charisma / and thus have charisma) have always enjoyed the perks.
But yes...men SHOULD always take "NO" for an answer and back off/stop whatever they are doing!

Regards,
Miss Marmelstein...you have said you have been active in NYC arts and stage lifeand interacting with many well known persons. I’m watching both you and DR go at it and I’m thinking that quite a few Broadway plays and Hollywood movies start off this way...Rock Hudson and Doris Day perhaps....perhaps or Robert Redford and Barbara Streisand...
Me....just married for 28 years and we have our ups and downs. But someone cited the Kipling poem on this thread and when someone cites Kipling, one knows the thread is going to be raucous....but I’ll tell you, I’m glad my “squaw” has my back. It’s good to know that my “Jael” will thrust a dart through any interloper’s temple.
CS Lewis spoke of those who complain of men doing things that are “out of nature” at the same time denying God and original sin by claiming that humans are merely products of nature. (He was defending the notion of original sin and all nature and creation being cursed). He said...”If men be products of Nature then something has gone wrong with Nature or with man if men find themselves out of bounds with nature. That is, if men are truly products of nature!”(it’s close to the original quote but I was too lazy to find and copy and paste it)
Here’s another by Kipling, :
The Ladies
IVE taken my fun where I’ve found it;
I’ve rogued an’ I’ve ranged in my time;
I’ve ‘ad my pickin’ o’ sweethearts,
An’ four o’ the lot was prime.
One was an ‘arf-caste widow,
One was a woman at Prome,
One was the wife of a jemadar-sais,
An’ one is a girl at ‘ome.
Now I aren’t no ‘and with the ladies,
For, takin’ ‘em all along,
You never can say till you’ve tried ‘em,
An’ then you are like to be wrong.
There’s times when you’ll think that you mightn’t,
There’s times when you’ll know that you might;
But the things you will learn from the Yellow an’ Brown,
They’ll ‘elp you a lot with the White!
I was a young un at ‘Oogli,
Shy as a girl to begin;
Aggie de Castrer she made me,
- An’ Aggie was clever as sin;
Older than me, but my first un -
More like a mother she were
Showed me the way to promotion an’ pay,
An’ I learned about women from ‘er !
Then I was ordered to Burma,
Actin’ in charge o’ Bazar,
An’ I got me a tiddy live ‘eathen
Through buyin’ supplies off ‘er pa.
Funny an’ yellow an’ faithful
Doll in a teacup she were
But we lived on the square, like a true-married pair,
An’ I learned about women from ‘er !
Then we was shifted to Neemuch
(Or I might ha’ been keepin’ ‘er now),
An’ I took with a shiny she-devil,
The wife of a nigger at Mhow;
‘Taught me the gipsy-folks’ bolee;
Kind o’ volcano she were,
For she knifed me one night ‘cause I wished she was white,
And I learned about women from ‘er !
Then I come ‘ome in a trooper,
‘Long of a kid o’ sixteen
‘Girl from a convent at Meerut,
The straightest I ever ‘ave seen.
Love at first sight was ‘er trouble,
She didn’t know what it were;
An’ I wouldn’t do such, ‘cause I liked ‘er too much,
But - I learned about women from ‘er !
I’ve taken my fun where I’ve found it,
An’ now I must pay for my fun,
For the more you ‘ave known o’ the others
The less will you settle to one;
An’ the end of it’s sittin’ and thinkin’,
An’ dreamin’ Hell-fires to see;
So be warned by my lot (which I know you will not),
An’ learn about women from me !
What did the Colonel’s Lady think ?
Nobody never knew.
Somebody asked the Sergeant’s Wife,
An’ she told ‘em true!
When you get to a man in the case,
They’re like as a row of pins -
For the Colonel’s Lady an’ Judy O’Grady
Are sisters under their skins !
The Bellamy Brothers Lyrics
“I’d Lie To You For Your Love”
I watched you walk into the room
I want to say this just right
If you ain’t waitin’ for somebody special
Would you be with me tonight?
I’m a doctor, I’m a lawyer, I’m a movie star
I’m an astronaut and I own this bar
And I’d lie to you for your love
I’d lie to you for your love
I’d lie to you for your love, that’s the truth
I can tell you what you wanna hear
Awesome secrets ‘bout myself
I can tell you you’re the only one, baby
There’ll never be nobody else
Yeah, I’m runnin’ for president, I got money to burn
My heart don’t ache and my body don’t yearn
And I’d lie to you for your love
I’d lie to you for your love
I’d lie to you for your love, that’s the truth
Maybe it would be easier just to come out and say it
I ain’t never seen a woman quite like you
My family comes from royalty on my daddy’s side
And I can read your palms and cards and tell you
Our love just can’t be denied
I’m a doctor, I’m a lawyer, I’m a movie star
I’m an astronaut and I own this bar
And I’d lie to you for your love
I’d lie to you for your love
I’d lie to you for your love, that’s the truth
That’s the truth
I’ve been happily married for 25 years and I’m not looking for a new romance with anybody on this thread, lol.
You should probably work on your critical thinking skills.
My statement does not exclude behavior of predatory men nor deny their existence, it simply states FACTS from a different point that many people are afraid to talk about for fear of being burned at the stake.
Reactions such as YOURS only prove that people are unable to speak about the subject objectively because of their own experiences.
My point is that there ARE TONS OF WHORES (regardless of gender) who willingly give themselves up for a few coins and that the current climate of accusation=guilt is more inline with the philosophy of ISIS than a free-thinking, civilized society.
When I see entertainers or Politicians involved in these sort of accusations, I’m smart enough to understand that there are seedy, dishonest people involved in these games at every level and whilst extremists who have an axe to grind against MEN are quick to immediately judge, INTELLIGENT, fair-minded people ADMIT that there are women (and men) who will lie and willingly sleep around to get what they want.
Try harder next time when looking for pretend misogyny and then have the guts to be honest regardless of whatever has happened in your life that makes you cast false assumptions against people you don’t know.
Further, if you don’t know that there ARE women who will LIE about sexual assault/harassment, perhaps you should get out more or at least go to GOOGLE and type in “Emma Sulkowicz, aka mattress girl” so that you will become more educated.
Yes, sometimes it IS the ho’, isn’t it.....
And yes, I did just Mansplain that to you.
Youre exactly right.
And can we stop using the word “victim” if nothing has been proven?
When there is PROOF of an actual crime or wrongdoing, the offended becomes a “victim”, until something is PROVEN, that person is the “accuser”.
I’m all for hanging sexual predators, but I’m also all for hanging the people trying to destroy innocent peoples’ lives right beside them.
I’ve spent most of my life as a musician, touring quite a bit and working in other capacities on some pretty big shows.
Most of you would be SHOCKED to see what some people will do to get a chance to meet Ozzy Osbourne.
It’s a living.....:-)
Here’s the scary part as it relates to Roy Moore: In this WHOLE debacle, we only ever saw ONE piece of evidence and it was as fake as a mounted Jackalope, yet he was branded as some sort of pedophile.
Many have said “yeah, but look at the NUMBER of accusers”....Whelp, guess what kiddies, the Left have SEEN the template and there will be no shortage of people willing to pretend to be victims if there are no real ones to be found, 8, 10, 15 whatever, they WILL round them up.
And as much as I’m enjoying the Schadenfreude of seeing these pious, hypocritical pretend feminist Lefty’s fall, I have to temper that by knowing that there may be some people who have suffered some pretty terrible things at their hands.
However, whatever hatred I have of the Left, I STILL am getting a little nervous over this “accused = guilty” standard we are setting up.
In all to many cases, we are simply seeing misandry disguised as a quest for justice or simple GREED pushing the stories. Can’t we pump the brakes, take each case on a separate basis and wait for proof?
And yes, to me, resigning in shame and quickly putting out an insincere, word-salad, paint-by-numbers “If I offended” apology IS proof enough.
Oh I meant it as a gentle kidding...I’m glad you have a great marriage and wish you the best this holiday season!(Ma’am!)
And that’s why I put an lol afterwards.
Have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!

Researchers did a study in a small metropolitan area. They found 41% of forcible rape allegations turned out to be false.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8135653
>>Abstract
With the cooperation of the police agency of a small metropolitan community, 45 consecutive, disposed, false rape allegations covering a 9 year period were studied. These false rape allegations constitute 41% the total forcible rape cases (n = 109) reported during this period. These false allegations appear to serve three major functions for the complainants: providing an alibi, seeking revenge, and obtaining sympathy and attention. False rape allegations are not the consequence of a gender-linked aberration, as frequently claimed, but reflect impulsive and desperate efforts to cope with personal and social stress situations.<<
