Alabama votes on Tuesday in a special election to fill the Senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions, now the attorney general. The last polls close at 8 p.m. Eastern. Strong support for Roy S. Moore, the Republican, is expected in rural, mostly white parts of the state and in its northern half. The Democrat, Doug Jones, aims to create a lead in the urban counties that include Birmingham and Montgomery, and across a band of largely black counties.
One critical battleground is a trio of smaller, whiter cities: Mobile, Tuscaloosa and Huntsville. Mr. Moore won a hard race in 2012 by keeping things close there. Mr. Jones hopes to win the cities by a convincing margin.

BS, Moore won easily, it’s over.
Mostly correct.
I’m here. You said I wouldn’t show up on election night when I posted that poll a month ago.
If the current percentages hold up in Montgomery and Jefferson it equates to nearly 100,000 vote advantage for Jones. That’s why the NYTimes is showing a big Jones win. If the percentages tighten up then that will change.
They showed HRC winning for most of the night. Let’s hope they are wrong again!
Husband turned off Fox.GRRRRRRR
Because it’s the New York times, the leader in fake news.
How long is this term. They said since its a special election, another election will be coming up anyway.
They are stuffing ballot boxes in the ghettos. That is my fear.
I hope so. Are there still a lot of Democrat leaning counties left?
What makes you so sure?
I don’t know. It’s moving too fast for me to keep up.
Because of the outstanding votes in the blue areas and the trends they see in those areas.
Although they came out solidly for Trump in 2016, those NW Alabama areas often favor squishy establishment type Republicans over true conservatives. Their support for Moore will likely deviate a good bit from the margins they gave Trump.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if the country club milquetoast set abandoned Moore. They certainly have been encouraged to sit this one out by the GOPe.
Glad to see you, I hope we win this!
I would not want to win your get. I just pray you are correct.
Despite the blabbering here on FR the reality is Moore is a very flawed candidate.
My psychic powers say your going to be mistaken this round. I hate election night because too many times the cock-eyed optimism overcomes reason.
“nominating a lunatic”
Long-time Democrat troll? That you Hillary?
