Alabama votes on Tuesday in a special election to fill the Senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions, now the attorney general. The last polls close at 8 p.m. Eastern. Strong support for Roy S. Moore, the Republican, is expected in rural, mostly white parts of the state and in its northern half. The Democrat, Doug Jones, aims to create a lead in the urban counties that include Birmingham and Montgomery, and across a band of largely black counties.
One critical battleground is a trio of smaller, whiter cities: Mobile, Tuscaloosa and Huntsville. Mr. Moore won a hard race in 2012 by keeping things close there. Mr. Jones hopes to win the cities by a convincing margin.

May Fox News go the way of the NFL.
Not really. Next year the Democrats will have 25 seats up for election in the Senate while the Republicans have only about 9. The Democrats will try to pull the sex harassment shtick again but I don't think it will work again. Remember, Moore was a LOUSY candidate. He actually left the state to attend a football game in the final weekend before the election today.
HA! Good point. I'm not holding my breath either...
Blessings. Keep the faith. God is Holy.
Is it true he went on a short vacation this past, last weekend, instead of whirlwinding it across the state, to finish strong? Strange to have not done so.
Many of them truly are working with the Democrats.
It’s pretty noticeable that in Jones “big” precincts, they withhold the results...some stayed at 72%, 42%, 66%
And for that I blame Shelby and the turtle.
And this was their goal. To have Moore lose.
Now watch them set loose a bunch of uber chamber of commerce RINO candidates for Senate races next year. Arizona is the obvious one. Bannon will have much harder time raising money now.
Only bright spot left is, Jones will most likely lose re-election in 3 years, to a republican.
I wonder what damage he will inflict, in the meantime :(
Prayers up....for good to win, over evil...in AL and in the USA.
I cannot believe he was that stupid!
No tax increases, didn’t push an illegal income tax like Sundquist, fought Hillarycare in court, slowed spending and eliminating useless departments, etc.
And you want to whine about a picture.
No, I don’t honestly believe Alabama has gone full-blown progressive. But with all the leftists moving from Blue States to Red States in the past few years..... who knows???
Yes, that is a common tactic in close elections.
This is the first I have heard about a “vacation” on the weekend prior to the election. Sounds inexcusable considering all that had happened

I agree. Fox is as phony as the rest of them.
I say TURN OFF THE TV’s NOW.......
Explain Jones is temporary? What am I missing...just finishes out Sessions term?
Well, Ditch and the rest of the Establishment RINOs seem to have gotten what they wanted tonight. They’re one seat closer to giving away the Senate so they can have an excuse for not doing diddly.
with all due respect, please go take a xanex and come back in a few days.
this was a special election where the entire establishment on turned against moore and he was outspent by 10 to 1.
I sincerly doubt a liberal president can win Alabama. If Obama couldn’t win it the first time with his faux “moderate” routine than I doubt anyone lib will.
This was a fluke and Jones will most likely be done in three years during a regular election after his voting record is played out to the conservatives who sat at home tonight because of they were uncomfortable with Moore.
