Alabama votes on Tuesday in a special election to fill the Senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions, now the attorney general. The last polls close at 8 p.m. Eastern. Strong support for Roy S. Moore, the Republican, is expected in rural, mostly white parts of the state and in its northern half. The Democrat, Doug Jones, aims to create a lead in the urban counties that include Birmingham and Montgomery, and across a band of largely black counties.
One critical battleground is a trio of smaller, whiter cities: Mobile, Tuscaloosa and Huntsville. Mr. Moore won a hard race in 2012 by keeping things close there. Mr. Jones hopes to win the cities by a convincing margin.

now you know the russians rigged the election....
COUNTED SO FAR: 91% ROY MOORE 574,575 48.9% DOUG JONES 580,688 49.5%
How sad, that deceit and power grab won.
But God is still on the throne, and His hand is still on our President. My heart goes out to Moore, though, who was attacked so viciously by evil people.

I wonder if Trump felt that way too when he endorsed Strange.

Republicans are toast.
No more.
The interview with Hannity was a disaster. I thought that he did enough to overcome that. Maybe not enough.
If this worked in one of the reddest states in the country it will work anywhere.
It only worked because the surrender party did not contest the race. Had it been a corportist GOPe candidate they would have gone all in on negative ads against Jones to pull their boy over the line.
“If Deo-rats Hollywood doesnt bring it in for them they always resort to that.”
This race should not have even been close.
Alabama Republicans made their choice, as is their right. But I am convinced ANY other member of the Republican Party in Alabama could have won this race.
In my opinion, Moore was a very, very poor choice even before the pedophile allegations.
The nation has been damaged.
Suburban soccer moms (of all races) don’t like allegations like these. They are key voters in America. They voted for Bush, Obama, and Trump.
Trump needs to focus on jobs/crime/foreign policy. Ease up on the Twitter attacks unless NECESSARY.
Disgusting isn’t it? The GOPe is the most loathsome nest of snakes there is. I put this in McTurtles’s lap. And why did Trump have to have Sessions for an AG? Wasn’t there someone else other than a Senator? Biggest mistake he’s made is Sessions. He turned-out to be a dud for an AG.
When you leave the state on the weekend before an election to go on a vacation, that is a LOUSY candidate.
I don't feel too bad though, Democrats can't hang Moore on The GOP & we'll get back AL in 2020
Yep. Luther Strange would have been better than Doug Jones.
what I can’t figure out is how the times/AP have all the results in yet the AL SOS doesn’t

They show 58/67 counties reporting
Wtf? Yes he did. He denied it.
“This close there will be a recount I suspect.”
I would definitely challenge this if I were Moore. This reeks of vote fraud. Massive vote fraud.
It’s bizarre. What a waste of time to do that.
Especially to make things easier for a liberal.
Just ridiculous.
