Alabama votes on Tuesday in a special election to fill the Senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions, now the attorney general. The last polls close at 8 p.m. Eastern. Strong support for Roy S. Moore, the Republican, is expected in rural, mostly white parts of the state and in its northern half. The Democrat, Doug Jones, aims to create a lead in the urban counties that include Birmingham and Montgomery, and across a band of largely black counties.
One critical battleground is a trio of smaller, whiter cities: Mobile, Tuscaloosa and Huntsville. Mr. Moore won a hard race in 2012 by keeping things close there. Mr. Jones hopes to win the cities by a convincing margin.

Should Mitch McConnell resign as Senate Republican Leader?
Thune, Cornyn, Blunt are GOPE.
Cruz is compromised. Cotton? Daines?
we can thank John McCain. His health care vote and back room sabatoge screwed the pooch
I don’t think he should concede - drag this out for a year ...
Trump can govern through executive order like the mooselimb did. Screw the repukes.
Well, I guess the upside is that Franken has to go home now. Not much else good about this night.
Here’s the big difference, Moore went out with some younger women when he was 30 & someone told the dems. They used that to create a whole series of false accusations. It only worked because Moore at 30 went out with some girls who were17-18.
Mo Brooks, I would assume never dated young women when he was 30. Of course Moore was innocent of any wrong doing, but because of the dating back then, the dems were able to creats this huge sexual harassment sham. In retrospect the whole Weinstein story breaking when it did, was part of the set up of Moore. Weinstein was known to be a predator for years, but they broke that story, then the floodgates opened on sexual misconduct.. All part of the Moore set up The senate seat for the dems was what all this sexual misconduct news was about.
But he always got their mama’s permission first!
...when does Al Franken un-resign?
And I think we’d be right to assume the same thing.
Loosing Alabama to a hard core liberal is a huge wake up call.
I think you are under estimating how stupid and completely inept judge Moore was in refuting the fake allegations. I have never seen a candidate in my life who did a worse job than he did.
Alabama should have listened to Trump in the primary, “you need to elect someone who can WIN”.
Trump read it right, Moore wasn’t the one who could win.
We would have won with the write in's!
The country is wicked, yes. That’s the whole reason why so many were praying for divine intervention to heal our land.
On a positive note: Hillary Clinton is still not the President of the United States.
We have HOPE in our Redeemer....HE WILL WIN IN THE END....His Word said that there would be evil in this world until He puts the final knife in satan.
That day is FAST approaching.....so yes, no matter what,
All Praise to God that we can trust HIM through this crisis.
Who convinced Judge Moore to do an interview with a 12-year-old girl on the eve of this election?
51-49 Senate. All it takes is two turncoats. Manny to choose from.
This loss gives the Flakes, McCain, Corker cabal the ability to make all sorts of trouble up to and including switching parties.
Shelby didn’t help either with his announcement this weekend he didn’t vote for Moore.
The democrats falsified votes, that’s what happened.
Are we in run off territory??
