Alabama votes on Tuesday in a special election to fill the Senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions, now the attorney general. The last polls close at 8 p.m. Eastern. Strong support for Roy S. Moore, the Republican, is expected in rural, mostly white parts of the state and in its northern half. The Democrat, Doug Jones, aims to create a lead in the urban counties that include Birmingham and Montgomery, and across a band of largely black counties.
One critical battleground is a trio of smaller, whiter cities: Mobile, Tuscaloosa and Huntsville. Mr. Moore won a hard race in 2012 by keeping things close there. Mr. Jones hopes to win the cities by a convincing margin.

Jones needs 2 out of every 3 votes left to win - he can’t do it ..
Well believe it. And McConnell and the GOP-e establishment along with the leftist globalists won this.
We have A LOT of work to do before 2018.
A left wing lib will be senator of Alabama. Just damn.
OK... You may be right on that.
Roy Moore Republican 401,467 51.8%
Doug Jones Democrat 363,307 46.8
COUNTED SO FAR: 70% ROY MOORE 401,467 51.8% DOUG JONES 363,307 46.8%
Yep. Its over. Jones will win. No surprise when the republicans run these losers.
Yep. No surprise when progressive corportist Republicans prefer a progressive Democrat to an actual conservative. Sorry, had to fix it for you.
Good point. Lots of alleged conservatives hate Moore because deep down, they really don’t like Christianity, limited government, or any reduction of the welfare-warfare state.
I didn’t know Huntsville had returned to its traditional Democrat preferences. Can’t be good news; too many conservatives did not vote.
Hope it keeps going in his direction.
He will need every one of those votes to counter the big city rat votes
that has yet to come in.
He would have won easily if not for the last minute allegations.
If pro about Jones wins Alabama will be the laughing stock of the South.
How in the hell can all the exit polls predict a Moore win and a baby killing rat wins? Makes no sense.
Not as flaws as baby killing open borders gun hating Jones!
Moore has this.
I’m looking at the 538 blog, exit polls said 30% of electorate was Black (that’s bad) and returns so far seem to bare that out.
More outstanding votes are in African precincts supposedly. But NY times projection which went Sky high for Jones narrowed.
Since there are never close Alabama state races (other than Moore’s Supreme Court races) forecasting is hard.
My stomach hurts, looks down to the wire to me.
Really? I hope he is right!
I think it ends with Jones +15k.
Sucks if true and sure hope I am wrong.
