Experienced political Alabama columnist Jeff Flowers reports extremely heavy turnout, early, in rural highly evangelical areas.
He seems to have an objective view of the race. Predicts 7% win for Moore. Out of state liberal money poured in...Moore outspent 14/1.
Tonight we know, polls close at 8pm Eastern (7 central)... but the press is already seeing some of the exit polling, around 5pm (6 eastern) I would expect them to start dropping information from them.
Can’t fully release them until after the polls are closed
doubt highly it will be that close.... have to include insane outliers like yesterdays average of polls to even hit that number.... We will know soon enough.
I see what you did there.
It will be sweet if all that Demonic-rat money goes down the drain.
By the way, this Texan donated to the Moore campaign.
I definitely agree that the sexual harassment thing is a big part of the Left’s and GOPe’s thinking on this one. But Roy Moore has also gotten under their skin in a big way on religion (unapologetically evangelical as shown by the Ten Commandments controversy), on gay issues (which are all-important to Left, right up there with abortion) and with his disdain for the Establishment (saying he will not vote for McConnell as leader). So they really (!) do not like him. But I have to disagree a bit on the Trump angle. First of all, Trump has belatedly come back around to backing the Judge following the allegations so that this point Trump “will own” whatever happens. Surely that is the way the media would work overtime to portray a defeat. Second, the heavy Bannon involvement also throws this in Trump’s lap. Look, I think Judge Moore is going to win and we won’t have to worry about what would have happened if he lost.
Amen. Cheating in elections should always be called out, pursued and prosecuted. It could cost us the next election.
In special elections in an off year, the dems might have a chance. But the magnitude of this race is more on the order of a national election. It's that big because the stakes are that high.
You wondered why anyone would spend 30 mill on this race...
I swear I think it is like satanic rage.
Moore, unless he has me incredibly hoodwinked, is an exceptionally godly man who unapologetically stands for biblical values. He doesnt apologize for them. I dont think he can be bought. They hate him with a spitting, snarling rancor.
I kinda doubt it.
Florida has been attracting domestic immigrants from the Northeast since the early 1900s. Alabama - not so much. Culturally, it's still very much the Deep South.
They hate him BECAUSE he can't be bought. That's also why they hate Trump.
You just made me realize that I have never once put those two words together.
Never will.
Not many transplants from the northeast here. We do have some from the Midwest but most of them are conservative.
Well that sux
Whites Better not sit home
Funny the conventional wisdom is southern blacks love social conservatism
Roy Moore exemplifies that
But thats not who they are there for
Still will take a slew of whites to sit it out to hand it to them Dems
All those Jones polls were never weighed for Alabama electorate
I've never lived in Alabama, but that's my perception of the state.
I’m not getting my hopes up until the Polls close and the Votes are counted.
To think that if Sessions had just stayed put we wouldn’t be dealing with all this crap, sigh. :(
As did I.
Guys like you were saying the same thing about Trump and pretending to be for Trump.
Kabar is a phony Moore supporter.
