Coup d’etat is defined in Wikipedia as “the illegal and overt seizure of a state by the military or other elites within the state apparatus”.

It is difficult for Americans, who have a long tradition of the orderly transition of power, to admit that what we are seeing now is a coup. But it grows ever more obvious that this is exactly what we are experiencing. To review briefly:

• Trump’s legitimacy has been challenged continuously since election day, beginning with the ridiculous recounts in multiple states, continuing with the loudly publicized calls for the Electoral College to void the election, and culminating with violent protests across the nation, including in DC for the inauguration.
• A cadre of powerful connected individuals have banded together under the motto #NeverTrump, originally before the election, but continuing after to deprive Trump of all legitimacy and find any method to remove him.
• The media have taken a lead role in the plotting and execution of the delegitimization of the President. All major news organizations have helped the plotters along, some such as NBC and CNN are particularly dedicated in their support.
• A series of carefully scripted political moves were made to force the appointment of an Independent Counsel (IC) to investigate Trump, more or less guaranteeing the continuation of the delegitimization campaign, ad infinitum.
• Impeachment has been made a constant topic in the news, via a few minor political players like Maxine Waters, coupled with a multi-million dollar ad campaign paid for by a liberal hedge fund billionaire, Tom Steyer.

We are approaching the end of the first-phase of the coup. This is a non-military coup, but what we are witnessing clearly fits the definition of “the overt seizure of the state by an elite within the state apparatus”

The invasion continues and GOPee plays right into their demands. I quite the GOP after an entire lifetime, back in 2006 after it appeared the GWB/Rove team liked laying down and remaining silent rather than fight these COMMIES.

Interesting tid-bit about Mueller and Flynn. Flynn has been gratned immunity but only for crimes committed while working for Obama. I have claimed since day one that Flynn left to expose the deep state and the leaks. Notice all the leaks about congress.

Dust needs to settle.....we’re not there yet. I’m not following this close enough for that reason...and there’s a crap load of false information being pushed....

What I do think is the entire investigation is a scam and then some........it’s all about people strutting their power out their in one form or another.....and their corrupt tactics. I don’t trust any of it currently.....that stopped when they gave the Clintons a pass.....and they still are.

Well it turns out you were mistaken. The intelligence agencies, the media, Obama, Soros and both parties have been sabotaging Trump from the day he won the election. Nothing like this has ever happened before. It is an attempted coup.

The attempted coup hasn’t been too successful. Donald J. Trump is still the 45th President of the United States and Commander-in-Chief and his appointees head the FBI and every intelligence agency. Yes, it will take quite a while to minimize the impact of the thousands of Obama sycophants who were hired into the Washington bureaucracy between 2009 and 2017. It always does. 329 Obama federal judges were confirmed by the Senate to lifetime appointments, for example. Elections have consequences.

Everyone against whom a successful coup was undertaken remained in power until they were toppled. But I would expect nothing less than your flippant, irreverent response, you being a long-term Obama apologist. Conservatives, by contrast, take the sabotage very seriously. It is a blatant attempt to destroy the Trump presidency—one which the traitor Obama is aiding and abetting every way he can.

Your other comment is so typical of a government-lover. You imagine most people in the DOJ and intelligence agencies are straight arrow decent, so it’s just a matter of rooting out the bad apples.

Clue: the Swamp is pervasive. And Trump can’t fire the vast majority of them; unless he directly appointed them, most have layer upon layer of employment protections.

You’re absolutely right. I put great faith in President Trump’s appointees: Chief of Staff General John Kelly, Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, Director of CIA Mike Pompeo and Secretary of Defense General Jim Mattis.

Nixon was brought down. Clinton was impeached. Do you really think the Obamunists are going to stop the Trump project at any point before indictment and/or impeachment.

My pet theory is that it will be well syncronized, Trump will be charged around Sept. 2018, giving the Dems the issue they want to run on. Vote for the Democrats to impeach and remove the criminal Trump.

The average off-year House of Representatives pick-up for the out-party (since 1960) is 20. It will take 23 to give the Dems control of the House. It's likely.

And do you have any doubt that Trump *will be impeached* if the Dems gain control of the House, with our without an accompanying indictment? With the indictment their is plenty of air-cover for the RINOs to flip and vote to convict/remeove. It would only take (roughly) 17 Rinos + 49 Dems (assuming they don't win the Senate too) to evict Trump from the Oval Office.

The odds of Trump surviving to be on the stage to either take the oath for a second time or shaking the hand of the new guy are not that great. Maybe 50/50, maybe 75/25, in either direction.

All is not well in Trump-Land.
