EU officials announced they have begun court action against Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic over their opposition to the blocs mandatory relocation scheme.
The decision is likely to provoke a furious response from the leaders of the three states, which have all argued that the programme presents a security threat to their citizens.
It risks once more plunging Brussels into a bitter and acrimonious battle with three of its newest member states, at a time when the bloc is trying to uphold its remarkable unity of Brexit.
In September Hungary and Slovakia lost an appeal to the ECJ against the legality of the scheme after arguing that it should have been taken by a unanimous decision of the member state.
After that case eurocrats wrote to all four states not honouring quotas, with Slovakia subsequently dropping their opposition, ordering them to immediately start taking in migrants.
In a statement the Commission said: The replies received were again found not satisfactory and three countries have given no indication that they will contribute to the implementation of the relocation decision.
This is why, the Commission has decided to move to the next stage of the infringement procedure and refer the three Member States to the Court of Justice of the EU.

Pretty much what I said in #5.
No,not Russia...the US.These people hate the Russians and clearly recall the oppression they experienced under them (and the Nazis).Poland and the US,for example, have very close relations and strong respect for each other.
The old people do. But it’s a bit like here and the young are becoming more and more detached from history. They do prefer the EU to Russia but it is more for economic reasons. In the end though it is about geography. Poland is next to Germany. The Baltic states are next to 140 million Russians. Over generations these countries will reorient to what is local to them and history will be confined to books.
Its going to end in war
########
Yes it will.
Poland, Hungary, Czech need to build up their armies.
Stand tough, Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary!
May God be with you.
Polexit, Hexit, Czexit...
Slovakexit.
(Everybody forgets Slovakia)
If the EU shafts these countries then President Trump show bestow “most favored nation” status on them, airlift massive supplies to neuter any EU sanctions on the three.
If they are so great, why doesn’t france take them all?
I hope that those countries would develop even stronger relationships with the USA. However, the US has Soros Inc.
who is pushing Muslim immigration in Europe and the US.
So yes I am in complete agreement with your observation that the people in all three of those countries hate the Russians. However, one tend to make alliances with countries close by. If the EU continues to push these three countries to adopt policies contrary to their own national interest, nay survival, they may look to Russia for trade partnerships and so forth.
So that’s it.
The naked aggression of the EU Marxists.
FORCED Invasion.
Time for war folks. Any government that commits treason against their own people deserves to die.
Good point. Talk about being caught between a rock and a hard place...
I hope Trump issues a statement of support for Poland, Hungary and the Czechs. Better yet, go to Europe and visit only those three countries...
What’s the difference between the USSR and the EU?
And how will the court enforce its order? Are they planning on marching German troops in? That didnt end well last time
Park em all in the Vatican
“E. U. > P. U. “
EU tries to emulate our government when run by democrats.
Not so long ago, an Eastern European leader who didn't kowtow to Western neo-liberal demands could expect to have an externally funded opposition party rise up against them under the guise of a democracy movement.
Ukraine is an extreme example of this phenomena, where not signing a trade deal with Europe led to the violent overthrow of a democratically elected government.
