Seems like a done deal. Marlins’ player development head Gary Denbo had the same job with the Yankees and knows their prospects as well as can be known. Might be gold for both teams.
The Yankees still need an ACE. Cy Young type starting pitching. Stanton is great, but power hitting is not what they lacked this past year.
Derek Jeter trading Stanton to the Yankees for Starling Castro plus??? That belongs in the same class as Mueller’s hiring of Clinton’s campaign staff to investigate non existent Russiagate. I am certain MLB will thoroughly investigate any impropriety.
Yankees have more top prospects than they can protect from Rule 5. So, using them as trade bait makes a lot of sense. They also have a problem with too many solid players in the infield; so, Castro can be replaced. This is not a knock on Casto. He’s been very productive as a Yankee. The problem with Stanton is he blows the salary cap for the team. But, this is a case where paying the luxury tax is worth it. The only problem is that this trade makes the Yankees very right-handed in a left-handers’ ballpark.
I love Starlin and Didi and Aaron. Love the baby bombers. Let’s hope they don’t become horse’s ass billionaires.
My guess is that the Yankees traded an entire outfield for Giancarlo. They don’t need all those upcoming outfielders except for judge
Starlin Castro is a potential super star and Jeter knows it.
The Steinbrenner boys are idiots who just hired, no coaching experience, Aaron Boone as manager. Hal and Hank are busy running the winners of the most championships in all of sports into the ground. While pushing their beloved soccer team. They do not deserve their fathers team.
They need to go.
For now, here’s a glance at what the Yankees potential lineup could be on opening day:
1. Brett Gardner, LF
2. Didi Gregorius, SS
3. Giancarlo Stanton, DH
4. Aaron Judge, RF
5. Gary Sanchez, C
6. Greg Bird, 1B
7. Aaron Hicks, CF
8. Gleyber Torres, 2B
9. Chase Headley, 3B
Wow! Finally 1927 all over again.
