If I were to tuck a pistol under my pillow, I would never be able to locate it, the way I toss and turn all night.
In a holster that is tacked to the back of the headboard.

I read about some dude who kept a pistol next to the phone on a bedside table. Very late at night, the phone roused him from a deep sleep whereupon he picked up his gun and shot himself in the head. The lesson to be learned is to never answer the phone at night.

"In a holster that is tacked to the back of the headboard. " Dang! You are lucky... If I have a break-in:
- I'd jump out of bed;
- get into my boat;
- cruise out into the Chesapeake Bay south of the Bay Bridge;
- get my scuba equipment on;
- retrieve one of my guns;
- climb back into the boat;
- get back to the dock;
- unpack the AK;
- run back into my house; and,
- shoot the mf scumbag.
