Roy Moore accuser Beverly Young Nelson, with lawyer Gloria Allred in tow, conducted a press conference today pushing back against the idea that Moores yearbook signature was forged, despite admitting that she did add the date and location afterwards.
The yearbook note in question reads To a sweeter more beautiful girl I could not say Merry Christmas. Christmas 1977. Love, Roy Moore, D.A. 12-22-77 Olde Hickory House.
Allred told the press conference that her client had always meant to only include the signature and the Christmas greeting as being written by Moore, saying that she had the signature analyzed and it matched that of Moore.
She never said that he wrote that, Allred told the press, referring to the date and location that appear at the end of the quote.
Allred continued to speak highly of Nelson throughout the presser.
Shes just so brave. I cant tell you, this kind of courage is something that should inspire so many people, especially women, she said.
The lawyer also added that Nelson could actually be in physical danger.
I think shes in danger and she knows it, she said. There are people who feel very comfortable saying things like she should be stoned in the town square and sending a photo of a casket. Who does that?/
[snip]
Allred also noted that the duo would welcome the yearbook to be analyzed by the Senate.

At the original press conference where Gloria Allred introduced thei abomination, their exact words were everything on this page was WRITTEN BY ROY MOORE. Go back to the original coverage on this yearbook bull crap and youll find that to be what they said.
So Beverly Young Nelson’s intent was to clarify that her yearbook entry was indeed from Roy Moore by forging “the extra note”?
And Allred held two news conferences to make that point across? The first one implicitly accused Moore, the second to say that neither Beverly Young Nelson nor Allred are in the wrong?
Funny how my local news was all in “Breaking News” style about Allred’s first news conference but nothing nada about the second one.
I agree. The o in Roy is not like the two os in Moore. That is because the o in Roy is an a in Ray.
I guess Gloria doesn’t want a Senator with an ax to grind on her back.
Oh yeah... did you know that Judge Moore presided over her divorce years later?
I bet she copied his signature off her divorce papers.
Moore’s people had Their own press conference today completely shredding Alred and her lying ho’s denials.
Complete with video of Alred’s first press conference and time stamp listing to refute what she claims today using her own voice from the first press spectical.
’ . . . by the Senate.’
That’s like saying, “I would welcome a team of monkeys examination of the yearbook.”
Btw... I was 15 in 1977. This gal is a year older than I am. Which makes her 16 at that time, not 14.
They need to get someone else’s yearbook from that school year and check out the Rays she may have known at the time.
Press Conference Number 1
“Judge more wrote this - we have a document expert that says it was one writer”
Press conference today:
“We never said that.”
DISBAR THIS WITCH
The theory goes that the signature was lifted from a court document that was prepared by Moore's secretary whose name was Delbra Adams.
The phony signature included the “DA” because the forgers incorrectly thought that the "DA" meant District Attorney.
It’s extremely obvious that it’s written in a different color ink, starting with the last name “Moore....” Of course they can get someone to say it’s consistent with Moore’s signature, she appears to have copied it straight off his signature on her divorce papers, including the mistaken copying of his assistant’s initials.
Yep, it’s that obvious
Even if true, how would that alone prove Moore did something wrong?
I’d like to know how Allred came to know Nelson.
I hadn’t looked closely at what was original and what was added.
It was signed “Roy”. The Moore, D.A., was added in different colored ink to make it look like “Roy Moore” signed, not just any “Roy.”
That’s pretty thin.
Moore should announce that as soon as McConnell swears him in, he will request McConnell annunce an investigation by the ethics committee and that the yearbook be sent to an outside forensics firm, approved by both parties, for analysis.
“So when I am caught selling a painting on which I have affixed the name “Picasso”, I can claim that it was “notes”?”
Bwahahahahaha. Good point.
I would love to know when the forgery was added, and that can be determined through chemical analysis if these liars will hand over the yearbook. If old, she must not have known him well to think she needed to clarify who “Ray” or “Roy” was for her own memory. If recent, it sounds like fraud was the intent.
In any case, an innocuous note in a yearbook is in no way evidence of improper conduct. It isn’t just legal proof of whatever she claims, it’s contrary evidence. If he was doing something nefarious he would want no written record. Similarly, if she found him creepy/inappropriate, would she ask for a personal note and then do nothing with it for 40 years except add to his note to clarify who he was?
