Some of Nelson’s classmates believe the inscription was written by a classmate named Ray Parks, who was attempting to make a rhyme, hence the awkward wording.

IIRC, someone did a search and found one 'Ray' who attended the same school about the same time (+/- 2 to 3 years). He, however, died around 2005.
