North Korea says war with United States is 'inevitable'

North Korea lashed out again on Wednesday at large-scale military exercises — involving its southern neighbor and the United States — this time saying that war was “unavoidable.”

The comments were attributed to an unnamed North Korea Foreign Ministry spokesman, who said “bellicose comments” from high-ranked US officials, including CIA Director Mike Pompeo, had confirmed Washington’s intent for war.

Pompeo had said on Sunday that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was unaware of how tenuous his situation was both domestically and internationally. The North Korean spokesman accused Pompeo of directly provoking the country by “impudently criticizing our supreme leadership that is the heart of our people.”

“The remaining question now is: when will the war break out,” the official said. “We do not wish for a war, but shall not hide from it; and should the US miscalculate our patience and light the fuse for a nuclear war, we will surely make the US dearly pay the consequences with our mighty nuclear force which we have consistently strengthened.” …

“North Korea says war with United States is ‘inevitable’”

That part is true. Now let’s see if they can guess how it’s going to turn out.

It will last 4 days max. Maybe less.

After NK is leveled, our friends to the south of them will have much more room to stretch out. :)

Well yeah, N.K. keeps firing off missiles and saying they’re going to hit the U. S. mainland or some other entity of U. S. vested interest.

Duh! This was a tough call, if you’re younger than second grader Tysha Wilks from Modesto.

reportedly, they have been through the war game simulations and there are no good outcomes for anyone, including us.

I don’t think America will be ok with the deaths of millions of Koreans, north and south, as a result of us firing the first shot.

It will take an extraordinary combination of military methods we have never seen before for the civilian death toll to be kept relatively low.

North Korea would exhaust it’s military resources and reserves trying to match even one of those exercises

Yep, but we're the "bellicose" ones. The world is insane. The other day I heard some news about Russians chiming in on this similarly, and I thought, "Uh, yeah, because they aren't threatening to nuke YOU!"

Thus NK is saying it is going to war because their supreme leader has been criticized.

Pretty lame reason to commit suicide.

Sad thing is, it doesn’t get better from here.

It will have to be done.

One wrong move by China or Russia, and I think they’ll get a bit of a surprise. It’s like Iran. They won’t hesitate to bite the hand that fed them.

I think China and Russia have really screwed themselves here as much as anyone.

Once a country has these, you no longer control them.

It is true, most scenario’s do not go well for anyone within 50 miles of the border.

NorK artillery really is the problem. Missiles are significantly more easily dealt with.

However, while no battle or war goes as planned (in reality chaotic), there are a couple of non-nuclear tools we could use, which I believe could be successful in neutralizing the several thousand artillery pieces and rapid fire rocket launchers. It would also absolutely require a preemptive lightning quick action.

It would necessarily need to be highly coordinated, overwhelmingly redundant (overlapping), and use both very substantial ordinance designed for depth, as well as some very large volume oxygen removing ordinance. It would be quite expensive, but it would likely be quite decisive. This being said however, we have not ever done something quite like the scale required here. However, we are capable.

There is another option which really would work, but in this day and age, would be hard to justify preemptively.

Recall, the Soviets had so many tanks in East Germany, it was determined the only way to keep the communist from an annihilating westward “blitzkrieg”, was the knowledge we had low yield nuclear artillery, which was more than capable of removing the threat. So the moral of the story is, we could use the coordinated low yield nuclear option. Today, we can accomplish the same outcome with vastly more accurate and high speed airborne delivery systems. This would work decisively. However, even though this option could save up to millions of lives, left wing socialist organizations (like China, Russia, UN, France, Vatican, etc...), would likely go total uncontrollably ape insane!

The only other option would not need to be so coordinated, and it would definitely vaporize biology and remove all oxygen quite efficiently. In this scenario, people would find it kind of hard to work in temperatures hotter than the surface of the sun. The only problem here would be the jet stream would take radiation east toward Japan. Although there is another weapon in our arsenal which would not.

Whatever we decide, should be overwhelming to whatever level of threat exist when possible, period. This is basic ROTC or OCS doctrine stuff.

When Trump says we are capable, we are! The question is how decisive are we willing to be? If the General officers in charge are not on the same page, or acting in response to politics, we are in trouble.

It should be reiterated, no matter what we do, there will be loss of life.

The point is, we do have weapons and systems capable of ending things rather quickly.

I’m right behind you on that, and i wouldn’t be surprised if it did just end that quickly you start hearing the democrats whining that it was a waste of money sending all the men and equipment over there. And Trump should be impeached because....the war wasn’t long enough for anyone to prosper on it.

I was really hoping there was going to be a dec 7th early morning attack but its already past that there now.

Lil Kim must have a pretty insecure hold on his power to be so boisterous. That, or his people are starving by the millions again and the only thing keeping them from coming after him with their sticks and pitchforks is the fantasy they are at war and their starving is for the good of the nation kinda stuff.

I suspect it will be pin-point attack to take out Kim. Electronic warfare disruptions to his bunkers will prevent any potential ICBM launches. Conventional forces and focused cruise missiles will take out these bunkers like were successfully deployed during Desert Storm. Nukes will only be used defensively, or as retaliation.
